2. AS CLASS BEGINS 3. Entering the classroom Entering class When you enter class, you will go straight toyour assigned seat and copy the agenda andcomplete your warm-up. Helpers Class helpers will be expected to be the firstto class. You will be asked to pass outpapers, composition books, and pick sticksto review the warm-up. 4. WHAT YOU NEED FOR CLASS 5. supplies Please have the Things you will needfollowing items withas required:you in class every day: Index Cards 1-2 inch 3 ring binder Readers Journey Set of dividers (3 tabs) Post-it Notes Pens, pencils, highlighters Handheld pencil sharpener Agenda Composition Notebook (kept in class) 6. MOVEMENT ISSUES 7. movement Sharpening pencils/trash disposal You will have time to sharpen your pencils duringhomeroom and before the bell rings for class. If you have trash, wait until you leave the room tothrow it away. Handing in papers You will either pass your paper to the person in frontof you, or you will be asked to turn it in to your classbin. *Be sure to place it in the correct class period! DO NOT hand me papers or place themon my desk as you come into class orEVER! 8. WHEN YOU ARE ABSENT 9. Make up work Check Blackboard to see what you havemissed. If any handouts were given, look in theWhile You Were Out crate. If you have any questions about themissed assignments, either speak withme during down time or e-mail me atmary.horn@cobbk12.org. Letting someone see your homework from theprevious night will be considered cheating. Finishing work early If you finish work early, you will be expected toread silently. On occasion, you will be givenpermission to work on assignments from otherclasses. Late work You need to complete any late work before the unittest is given in order to receive credit AND youmust adhere to the 5-30 rule. 14. RESTROOM & LOCKER BREAKS 15. Break time! Restroom and Locker Breaks You will be expected to use the restroom andgo to your locker before homeroom andbetween classes as needed. With 5 minutes between classes, thereshould be no need for anyone to have anemergency restroom need during classtime. I left it in my locker will never be anacceptable excuse in this class. 16. LUNCHTIME 17. lunch When I tell you to line up, you will beexpected to silently line up along the wallaround the corner from my classroom. There is NO talking while walking in thehallway. You will enter line A and sit at the assignedtables in Row 3. Make sure you have everything you needbefore leaving the line no going back. If you need to get up for any reason, youneed to raise your hand, and a 7B teacherwill assist you. 18. END OF CLASS 19. Class dismissal Although the bell will ring at the end ofeach period, I will be the one to dismissyou. One of my pet peeves is when studentspack up before the bell so dont do it! Pick up all paper and other stuff underand around your desk and throw it awayon your way out of the classroom. 20. ONLINE RESOURCES 21. Blackboard, Blog, &online textbook You are expected to check my Blog everyday. You are expected to access any and allresources I post to my Blackboard anduse them to prepare or review for futureclasses. You can access our textbook online.Complete instructions are on Blackboard. 22. ODDS AND ENDS 23. And finally Fire Drill In the event of a fire drill, you will immediately line upin a single file line and silently follow me down thehall to our outside location. The last one out of theroom will turn off the lights and close the door. Gum/Food/Candy No eating in class. Period. Talking/Stop Talking When I raise my hand, that is your signal to stoptalking. Consequences (ugh!) You will receive one warning, and then your DMCcard will be marked for any non-compliance! 24.
