Classroom Rules

• 1. Always raise your hand before speaking. • 2. Follow directions the first time they are given. • 3. Keep your hands and feet to yourself at all times. • 4. Come to class prepared everyday.• 5. Always do your best work.

Homeroom Procedures

• You must enter the room quietly and go directly to your assigned seat.

• Homeroom class is to go to the restroom and lockers BEFORE entering classroom.

• Once you enter you can not leave.

• Homeroom is silent sustained time. – You may not talk.– You are allowed to read or work on the

Instructional Focus .

Being Prepared and Writing Utensils

• Being Prepared

Bring required materials each day. (3-ring binder, loose leaf paper, composition notebook, pen and a pencil, color pencils/ markers

• Writing Utensilsa. Students may use a

pencil or a pen (blue or black ink only)

b. Blue or black ink should be used for formal writing assignments.

c. Typed or computer generated work will be accepted with prior approval of the teacher.

Entering and Exiting Class

• Entering ClassA. After entering the room,

students may not leave without permission.

B. Students may not leave books and materials outside the classroom for any reason

C. Upon entering, students should go to their assigned seats and prepare for class. Once you enter you can not exit.

D. Begin working on bell ringers or warm ups.

• Exiting ClassA. The teacher will dismiss the

class Not The Bell.

B. Do not pack books to exit class until instructed to do so by the teacher or time keeper.

C. Students will be dismissed by table groups.

D. Students are responsible for cleaning the area around their desks before leaving the room.

Maintaining Your Notebook and Writers Notebook

• Notebook Bindera. Keep the following in your

notebook: homework assignments, assessment information, syllabus, lab safety contract.

b. All materials must be dated and in the right order.

c. Notebooks will be checked every nine weeks. This grade will count as a test grade.

• Class Notebooka. This will be a black and white

composition notebook.

b. This notebook will be used for class notes, journal entries or question open responses as well as class assignments.

Papers

Paper usage • Writing on the

back of homework and class work pages is permitted and encouraged.

• Do not write on the bottom line of the paper, go to next page.

Heading Papers

• Write your name, date, subject and period in the top-right hand corner of the first page of any assignment.• Write your first and last name on any following pages in the upper right hand corner.•Fold papers hot dog style when you have more than one sheet of paper !!!

Passing in papers•For classwork each student at a grouped table should place their paper in a stack at the center of their table to prepare for pick up. • Homework should be placed in the homework bin at the front of the classroom when entering class.

Restroom and Water

• Restroom a. Students should use the

restroom at the scheduled restroom breaks.

b. After entering the classroom, students will not be allowed to leave unless it is an extreme Emergency.

• Water

Students should get water during restroom breaks. Students may keep water in a clear bottle in the classroom.

Pencil Sharpening and Trash

• Pencil Sharpening

a. Students are to sharpen pencils upon entering the classroom.

b. If your lead breaks during class and if your have no other writing utensil, raise your hand and wait for further instructions.

• Trasha. Trash will be thrown away

when your are dismissed from class. Keep it at your desk, using the table until you are dismissed.

b. Pick up all paper around your desk before leaving the room.

Hallway Behavior Expectations

A. Students are expected to walk in a straight line when in the hallway.

B. Students are to be quiet during locker breaks. Locker and restroom breaks are 3 minutes.

C. There will be NO TALKINGin line. All transitions are SILENT.

D. All class rules apply in the hallway.
