ORIGINAL BUDGET: Original Estimate of Emergency Work is $4,782,577.50
STRATEGIC GOALS: Invest in Infrastructure
The attached Emergency Procurement in the amount of $4,782,577.50 is forwarded for your
approval. McClam & Associates Inc. was contacted to assist the City with emergency repair to the
Columbia Canal dike. McClam & Associates Inc. has prior experience working on the canal dike on
previous City projects. McClam is listed as a contractor on the Emergency Action Plan for the City of
Columbia Hydroelectric Facility. McClam has the necessary expertise, equipment and manpower to
mobilize to the site quickly in order to make the necessary repairs.
The City will provide funding up-front for this project via 5516206 638400, Water FEMA Related
Funding and has already started the reimbursement process for FEMA reimbursement. It is anticipated
that a minimum of 75% ($3,586,933.13) of this cost will be reimbursed. The remaining amount of
($1,195,644.37) will be funded by the water/sewer reserve.
McClam & Associates Inc. is located in Little Mountain, South Carolina.
