History of City Hall Site Selection
• February 2015 – Council began to discuss the redevelopment of the current city hall site.
• February 2016 – Council confirmed that city hall should remain at the current location.
• February 2017 – Council Strategic Plan, Implementation Plan:• FY17 - Investigation into the redevelopment of 1101 and 1207 Texas Ave.
• FY18 - Begin design of the new city hall building
• FY19 - Begin construction of the new city hall building
Future Occupancy of City Buildings
• New city hall building - Occupants • Remains the same
• Current police dept. building – Occupants (after completion of the new PD bldg)
• Fire Administration• Opens up room for the expanding Public Works Department (in old Fire Admin space)
• Allows Fire Admin to bring logistics, and inventory control and distribution to a central location
• Community Development • Eliminates lease space at 511 University Dr.
• Facilities Maintenance OR Human Resources
