YCPASR 1 Y Y CPASR CPASR YORK COUNTY PASR Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees FROM THE PRESIDENTS’ DESK CHRISTINE BLEVINS CRYSTAL MUELLER WINTER 2019 VOL. 38 #1 Happy 2019! As co-presidents of YCPASR, we both look forward to serving our organization to the best of our ability. We have been friends for 44 years, co-taught in a team teaching room in the Southern York County School District, and even after having 64 students in one classroom, we have remained best of friends all these years. Together we accepted this position because we feel that we can continue in the footsteps of those presidents before us. The board of YCPASR is certainly a strong and committed group of individuals who perform their related tasks with confidence and diligence. As a team we will work in a collaborative manner to best accomplish the goals of this fine organization. At the November membership meeting, Donna stated that there is a new PASR policy for those members wishing not to be included in published pictures or videos. IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE INCLUDED in future pictures or videos published by YCPASR, please provide written documentation by completing the form that is provided in this newsletter stating this and bringing it to the March 11 th membership meeting, or email your documentation to one of us. No response is needed if you are in agreement with having your picture published or appearing in a video. Thank you in advance for your cooperation in considering this request. Our YCPASR membership currently stands at 913! Even though the size of our organization is quite impressive, we strive to increase membership because of the outstanding services such as travel and community outreach opportunities we offer. Networking with others provides us all with healthy social and volunteer experiences. Please consider contacting friends who will retire soon to attend a meeting with you or have them check out the YCPASR website and share our Facebook page. Currently, the vacant positions on the board are President-Elect, Legislative/Political Education Committee, and Member Benefits. If you would be interested in a position, please contact us. We welcome your assistance. We look forward to meeting you at our March meeting (because it will be close to St. Patrick’s Day we will be wearing green). Should you have any questions or concerns before that time feel free to contact us at [email protected] or [email protected]. Wishing you a healthy and happy new year! This community project has been such a success! We want to continue to collect single lonely socks and brand new socks. Keep up the good work! Remember they can be a pair of hand me downs, a single sock or a brand new pair.

PUT A SOCK IN IT!CHILDREN’S HOME OF YORK

Our new community project for the March luncheon is a service which truly helps children of York County. Helping children has been a goal of all members of YCPASR. The Children’s Home empowers children to thrive, strengthens families and enriches communities. They have helped so many children but there are 15,000 more waiting to be helped. Envelopes will be placed on the table for monetary support. Thank you!
