NeoClassicalNeoClassical 1895-1950This architectural style is characteristically a highbrow version of the colonial

revival. If you look into what is fascinating about the NeoClassical style is that its

not any one distinct style. It is more of a trend or even an approach to design that

can incorporate a variety of styles. This could be true with the large pillars on the

front of the Palm Beach Courthouse building. Now a museum, but it symbolizes

justice and democracy. Part of the public figure of the historic styles. As you see

in the pictures of the facade design the stairs leading into the small entryway. All

the windows are symmetrical and decorative details all around the facade. This is

considered my highbrow style due to the government building, museum.

Beaux-Arts

Beaux-Arts 1885 - 1935This was built in 1902, Whitehall, as it was known for, has approximately 75 rooms and in the Beaux-Arts architectural style.

The actual site of the property was purchased in 1893. This design followed roman and greek motifs, large open-air courtyard

with marble floors , walls and columns. All Beaux-Arts materials tend to be of the best and most expensive quality. Flagler

house was built with light colored stone, with strong bas relief. The Spanish style terra cotta roof with the large surface

decorations up front in the stairway. Each one of the second story windows had wrought iron-looking material. The entryway

windows all have the half moon radius on the doorway and windows. Chimney stacks on both ends of the structure stack

above the roof line. There is symmetrical articulation, large coupled columns. Located in Palm Beach, Florida.

Art Decco

Art Deco - Blue FrontBlue Front restaurant has the decorative-ornamental and beautifying look about it. The round geometric shapes with the logo and glass cubes on the side of the building, along with the paisley color of the building and logo gives you the south beach feeling. Hence the little beach area up front. The ornamental design on top of the structure.

New Urbanist

New Urbanist - 1995There isn’t a certain style or lighting or even facade that separate’s these from other build-ings except for the fact, most are 3 stories and taller. Generally have office space, or com-mercial rental below and or could have a parking garage above the commercial then you will have the residence. The New Urbanist is very similar to Mixed Use style. A great con-cept and not only allows you to possible work, eat, shop and live in one central spot.
