Christ the King November 25, 2018

“Jesus of Nazareth. . is so intrinsically king that the title ‘King’ has actually become his name. By calling ourselves Christians, we label ourselves as followers of the king. . .God did not intend Israel to have a kingdom. The kingdom was a result of Israel’s rebellion against God. . .The law was to be Israel’s king, and through the law, God himself. MONTH 2 – Developing Baby – I‘m Danc-ing” Your spiritually adopted baby is making progress developing all of her external features and internal organs. Her brain is functioning at 40 days. Her mother can hear her heartbeat now on an ultrasonic stethoscope. Baby-teeth buds are present at 6 ½ weeks. The central nervous system is functioning and 40 muscle sets begin their first exercises. From this moment, your spiritually adopted baby grows and refines her body. But everything she needs to survive after birth is already present by the end of the eighth week. She is now called a “fetus” a Latin word meaning “little one”. Ultrasound reveals that this little one can now spring, flip and jump – her first dance steps! Psalm 139:13 - "You formed my inmost being; you knit me in my mother's womb."

Tri-Parish Spiritual Adoption Program September 15-Father’s Day

One day a kindergarten teacher nun said to the class of 5-year-olds, "I'll give $2 to the child who can tell me who was the most famous man who ever lived." An Irish boy put his hand up and said, "It was St. Patrick. "The teacher said, "Sorry Sean, that's not correct." Then a Scottish boy put his hand up and said, "It was St. Andrew." The teacher replied, "I'm sorry, Hamish, that's not right either. "Finally, a Jewish boy raised his hand and said, "It was Jesus Christ." The teacher said, "That's absolutely right, Marvin, come up here and I'll give you the $2." As the teacher was giving Marvin his money, she said, "You know Marvin, you being Jewish, I was very surprised you said Jesus Christ." Marvin re-plied, "Yeah. In my heart I knew it was Moses, but busi-ness is business..."

May the waters of baptism call to mind our baptism into Christ who has redeemed us by his death and res-urrection. We welcome in baptism:
