Netball Matches V Castle – Tues 26

th January

Year 7 The Year 7’s showed great potential in their first league match against Castle. They all worked extremely hard and once they begin to gel as a team, I am sure they will be successful. Unfortunately, they did lose their first game 14-5. Player of the match was Georgia James who put in a fantastic performance on the centre court. Other squad members included: Sasha King ©, Molly Wescott, Danielle Mason, Lauren England, Grace Rumble, Flo Langridge, Milly Woods and Bethan Adams. Good luck in your next match girls! Year 8 Year 8 girls had a friendly match against Castle and for the second time this season beat them, 10-8. Con-gratulations to Maelyne Coggins who received player of the match for her consistently good shooting. Other squad members included: Charlotte Butcher ©, Emily Gravell, Yvette Bennett, Dawn Barnaby, Katie Cray-thorne, Brooke Hillier and Lauren Smith. Year 9 The Year 9 team have always shown great potential to do well, however, to really achieve their true potential they need to gel together as a team on court. I’m confident that as the season progresses this will happen and this will enable them to play some good quality netball. Unfortunately, they did lose their first league match against Castle, but congratulations to Beth Woolley who received player of the match for her fantastic perform-ance as GA. Other squad members included: Shannon Jeans ©, Louise King, Lucy Kay Carrie Wilson, Danika Dyer and Saffron Peck. Good luck in your next match! Year 10 The Year 10’s lost their friendly against Castle 9-3. Congratulations to Kerri Sullivan who received player of the match for her constantly high work rate. Other squad members included: Rachel Williams ©, Rossee McDonagh, Jas El-Hag, Susan Crow, Kelly Murray and Harriet Febry. Netball Fixtures V Brimsham - Wed 3rd February

Year 7

The Year 7's played some really good netball in a really close match against Brimsham. It could have gone either way but unfortunately the girls lost 2-4. Player of the match was Molly Wescott(C) who put in a stunning performance on the centre court. Other squad members included: Sasha King, Milly Woods, Flo Langridge, Georgia James, Lauren England, Hatty Blyth, Danielle Mason, Grace Rumble and Bethan Adams. Good Luck against Patchway next week!

Year 9

The Year 9's put in a much improved performance against Brimsham. Again, the match was extremely close with Chipping Sodbury narrowly losing 8-11. The girls worked well as a team and at times played some good netball. They now need to work on performing to a high standard consistently in their matches. Player of the match was Shannon Jeans who moved well as a shooter. Tresta Mansfield was also brilliant in defence. Other squad members included; Beth Woolley (C), Lucy Kay, Louise King, Danika Dyer and Carrie Wilson. Year 7 Netball Match V Marlwood – Wed 24

th February

The Year 7 girls put in an absolutely stunning performance in their league match against Marlwood. They dominated for long periods of the game which was reflected in the final score with Chipping Sodbury win-ning 17-5. They played like a totally different team since last match and every single member of the squad contributed to this win. Player of the match was Sasha King who dominated on the centre court and whose shooting was “on fire”. Other squad members included: Georgia James ©, Molly Wescott, Lauren England, Grace Rumble, Flo Langridge, Milly Woods and Bethan Jones. Congratulations and good luck in your next match!

Celebration of Achievement We know that many students outside of school achieve in ways that make you very proud. We would love to share these moments and so have decided to attach a slip for you to let us know if anything significant happens in your child’s life.

For example, completed a 5km run, survived a parachute jump, raised money for charity, gained Grade 5 music theory, played in a youth orchestra, had a poem published, won a competition, filled boxes for the Christmas appeal, was the carnival princess.

Please return the slips to their Head of Learning, Student Co-ordinator or tutor.

Thanks in advance
