Located in one of the biggest industrial metropolis of State of Uttar Pradesh Kanpur.

Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University stands as a hallmark of higher education. It

is an educational community where students of various religious and cultural backgrounds study and work together in a congenial atmosphere. The university is geared to provide maximum scholastic benefit to each individual student. The Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University Kanpur has been on the map of higher education for more than three decades. Established in 1966, it has not looked back,

now it has more then 1000 affiliated colleges in 14 districts. Spreading over a campus of 264 acres, the university is booming with academic activities. While the undergraduate and post-graduate programs in all disciplines of Art, Science, Commerce, Law, Engineering and Medicine are offered in affiliated colleges and

institutions, the residential wing of the campus includes faculties of Life Sciences, Hotel Management, Paramedical, Bio-Tech, Engineering, Business Management, Education and English etc. It also has a computer center, a department of Adult and Continuing Education, Communication and a College Development Council. The university seeks to contribute to student an education through curriculum design, the

development of new courses and the application of a forward looking and innovative teaching methodology. Kanpur, the industrial capital of U.P. and commonly known as the Manchester of Northern India has had a very eventful history. It has contributed much to the growth and economic development of the country.

University Mission & Vision

For almost four decades Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur has been the light house for all those seeking wisdom through higher education. Established in 1966, it has not looked back. The University which has more than 652 affiliated colleges spread over 14 districts of Uttar Pradesh and more than 9.5 lakh students on its roll is truly one of the largest universities of Asia catering to both urban and rural students offering unparallel range of courses both professional and academic in all disciplines of Arts, Science, Commerce, Law, Engineering, Biotechnology, Computer Applications, Management, Medicine and hospitality & tourism studies are offered in affiliated colleges and institutions.

Spread over a sprawling campus of 264 acres the university has many prestigious professional and job oriented institutes on its campus, giving it an incomparable academic ambience. The campus has more than four dozen most modern and socially relevant courses. It has the crown jewels - The Institute of Engineering and Technology, The Institute of Business Management, The Institute of Hotel and Tourism Management, The Institute of Life Sciences, Bioscience and biotechnology, Institute of Paramedical Sciences, Mass Communication and Journalism, Master of Social Works, MCA, Department of Library and Information Science etc.

Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University has also acquired adequate financial resources to build the necessary infrastructure for its new academic ventures. The campus is now dotted with institutes, colleges, university departments and UGC Cell. There is going to be inter connectivity in all the university departments and in all the affiliated colleges soon. This will improve communication, facilitate research and problem - solving, giving both teachers and students access to all information they need at the click of the mouse.

About Placement Cell

Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur is one of the prestigious universities of India and engaged in the process of initiating new measures to achieve excellence in academic standards. The university is taking active interests to improve quality of teaching and research. As we know "A University is more than a technical school. It should be a place for providing a student with opportunity for all round well proportioned education for effective living and good citizenship." But in current scenario it is possible only when you get a respectable job. Also, it is an ultimate objective of every student as well. Hence, there is a need to train and prepare the students for different career and assists to find good jobs. Considering the present scenario, Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur has established a University Placement Cell (UPC) in year 2009 at the university campus. The motto of Placement Cell is to provide the job placement facility to its students, not only to the students of university campus but to the students of all affiliated colleges of CSJM University. From the last 2 years the placement cell is organizing various programs like career counseling, personal development, entrepreneurship development program and placement drives at the university campus to train the students up to the current industry level so that they can have a good placement opportunity for a bright future. Placement Cell is established in CSJM University campus. Here at Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, our aim is not only to give a good result but also the successful working men to the nation. Here we are providing the best possible placement not to PGs but the graduate as well. We not only cater to the need of the student within the campus but also of those who are studying in colleges affiliated to Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University.

Placement Cell Objectives� The University Placement Cell (UPC) is performing on the following points to achieve

its objectives: � To take the necessary initiatives for placement of the students from university campus

and affiliated colleges by providing and conducting campus interviews regularly with the help of corporate sector companies for employment of graduates at the university campus for all potential streams such as, "Management, Engineering, Commerce, Humanities, Science and other professional and vocational course.

� To prepare the students to do well in the interviews it will work on enhancement of student’s communication skills, management skills, and administrative skills, behavioral skills with help of resource experts from within and outside the university. This will help to produce human potential with excellence and responsible leadership in different professions.

� To provide regular career counseling to the job aspirants because it is necessary for the students to be aware of emerging professions, opportunities and demand of the corporate world, as against their own strengths and likings.

� The University Placement Cell will be beneficial for the students and will help to improve the image of the university to e amongst the best universities at the national and international level.

Placement Cell Functions

� To have integration with corporate sectors and government agencies and invite them for placement of professional students.

� To organise education fair and job fair at university level to assist students to find jobs.

� To conduct industry interface programs and to invite renowned counselors for guiding the students from time to time and to conduct counseling on various issues.

� To conduct training programs and workshops for students and faculty both, to prepare students for different career options.

� To conduct mock interviews.
