Chesdin Chatter Neighbors, The holidays of Christmas and New Year’s celebrations are over and a new year is upon us. We are all thankful for family and friends and enjoyed this special time together. The amount of community involvement in planning our holiday events and activities is so appreciated by the vast majority of Chesdin Landing residents and this will continue to grow as our community ex- pands with new sections and many amenities of Championship golf course, 3,500 acre full service lake, fitness, tennis, pickle ball, pool, basketball, trails, clubhouse, pavilion, fine dining and sports bar and the numerous activities that our women’s club plan that we share throughout the year. Thank you all for your involvement, time and energy in putting these events together. We greatly appreciate all you do for all of Chesdin Landing. As we move into the New Year please take the time to visit the club. The dining and bar now under the hands of Abel, Dave, Nick and staff is outstanding, offering daily specials and events. The food and ser- vice is excellent! If you have any special occasions, weddings, family gatherings and/or corporate events that you would like to plan for here at the club get with Abel and his staff to make this an amaz- ing occasion. To clarify the policy we have had for hunting the past 19 years inside the boundaries of this subdivision is as follows. There are three hunt clubs that surround Chesdin we picked the one that was shown to be the best responsible and safety oriented. We have allowed the club to come into Chesdin the last week of deer hunting season to thin out the population of deer as we experience damage to autos as well as landscaping. There is a large number of residents living here that do spend substantial amounts of money for landscaping on flowers, plants and shrubs. I receive numerous calls every spring from residents that want their properties to look nice but the deer have done thousands of dollars in dam- age to their great efforts. We have had 7 car/deer collisions in and outside our community and 3 acci- dents avoiding a collusion with a deer, some very serious. That being said we have allowed one deer drive in Chesdin a year. Must be after school buses have picked up and finish before buses return to drop off. This is about 4 ½ hours. We have about 3,000 acres in Chesdin and the hunt club is only allowed to hunt areas designated to the large blocks of undeveloped land. They can’t hunt with rifles, only shot guns and must abide by all hunting laws. In the past I have always notified and stated their designated day but this year I did not and apologize for this. That will not happen again. Also, I will be meeting with the hunt club to go over guidelines and establishing a better policy moving forward. However I want first and foremost to ad- dress all concerns, abide within the law and make safety a must. Hunters should not be on your prop- erty or be a danger to your family. If they are on your property or you feel threatened you should call Chesterfield County Police or Game Warden for the quickest results. There are two sides here and both are valid. Neighbors,

The holidays of Christmas and New Year’s celebrations are over and a new year is upon us. We are all thankful for family and friends and enjoyed this special time together.

The amount of community involvement in planning our holiday events and activities is so appreciated by the vast majority of Chesdin Landing residents and this will continue to grow as our community ex-pands with new sections and many amenities of Championship golf course, 3,500 acre full service lake, fitness, tennis, pickle ball, pool, basketball, trails, clubhouse, pavilion, fine dining and sports bar and the numerous activities that our women’s club plan that we share throughout the year.

The food and ser-vice is excellent! If you have any special occasions, weddings, family gatherings and/or corporate events that you would like to plan for here at the club get with Abel and his staff to make this an amaz-ing occasion.

To clarify the policy we have had for hunting the past 19 years inside the boundaries of this subdivision is as follows. CONT’

Fortunately or unfortunately for some of you my wife and I will be here for a very long time and I will not

resign as president of this P.O.A. and will live in this development. Other developers have told me I was

crazy to do that because of all the visceral and hateful consequences. This doesn’t bother me or my family

because I and the Board of Directors are always doing what is in the best interest of Chesdin Landing and

for all residents. That is that period!!

On the issue of the quarterly P.O.A. meetings we have them publicized and posted. After numerous request

to schedule meetings in the evenings because it was inconvenient for resident to attend the morning times

we agreed. Meeting times were changed to accommodate, however the past 3 meetings with no participa-

tion of attendance from residents we are moving quarterly meetings back to morning times. I am available

to anyone that would like to discuss any questions and/or concerns my door is always open.

AmeriGas price as of today is $2.10 a gallon.

Be sure to contact the office for the current builders list and architectural guidelines before any new home

construction. All builders must be qualified, vetted and approved prior to construction on any home sites.

Submit all plans for additions to homes and landscaping projects.

Sincerely,

Scott Camp,

President POA

Chesdin Landing Women’s Association

The Chesdin Landing Women’s Association was pleased to continue the almost annual, Hol-

iday Home Tour, a tradition begun by Kathy O’Connor. The positive feedback from those

attending is awesome! A fabulous time was had by all - thanks to our 5 neighbors; Camp,

Guinnin, Hill, Kowalski and McGuigan, sharing their beautifully decorated homes.

The $10 fee added $1,050 for CLWA to continue providing family events at minimal or no

cost.

Adding to the success of the evening, Abel, David and Nick provided a delicious fare of

tasty hors d’ oeuvres’ and a special gift of drink tickets to get the party started.

Also helping to make the tour possible, Adrien & Mike McInerney helped decorate the club-

house. Nancy Jackson, Adrien McInerney, Mike McInerney and Lee Diem welcomed the

100 participants and Chesdin’s very own photographer, Chip Scavone took lovely photos of

the participating homes. (https://tinyurl.com/y7fajjz3). Carissa Carter, Kathy Kowalski and

Elaine Murkin shared their creativity preparing appreciation gifts for the host homes.

We appreciate everyone supporting the event. Please consider sharing your home in the

2019 Holiday Home Tour!

Thanks again,

Ann Diem & Sherry Gunnin
