03 - 125Functionalization of Corroles: Formylcorroles. — In contrast toporphyrins, corroles are unusually resistant to most functionalizations. Thefirst example of peripheral functionalization is demonstrated by reaction withthe Vilsmeier reagent. However, this reaction leads to the product (III) and notto meso-formyl derivatives. Coordination of cobalt to (I) yields a meso-formylcorrolato complex.
