It gets rid of wastes:solid waste from digestion(through the large intestine)

carbon dioxide from cells(through the lungs)

It gets rid of wastes:liquid waste from cells(through the kidneys, whichfilter wastes out of the bloodand then produce urine)

sweat (through the skin)

Blood passes through thekidneys 60 times a day.The kidneys remove substancesthe body no longer needs andreturns substances it does need.Nephron – part of the kidneywhere wastes are separatedfrom useful materials

Wastes can build up todangerous levels.People with this problem needdialysis, a treatment where amachine does the job of thekidneys.

Through the urinary system:Urine is released from thebody.

Through the skin:Sweat is released through tinyopenings in the skin calledpores.
