CHALCOT WEEKLY

Concert under the Oaks

We were very lucky that the

weather improved and we

were able to hold our concert

under the oaks last Friday

evening!!!!!

What a very great time the

Chalcot family had

munching on their picnic

dinner and then enjoying the

students performing a range

of songs and dances. The

students looked terrific in

their Christmas gear and did

a great job with their items.

Many thanks to families for

coming along and helping to

make the evening such a

success and to the PFA for

cooking and serving ALL

THOSE SAUSAGES!

Thanks also to the staff who,

as usual, made sure that

everything was perfectly

organised.

At the end of the evening,

the children were very

excited, as Santa arrived

with a ring of his bell and a

cheery “Ho, ho, ho”. Candy

canes were shared and, all in

all, a jolly time was had by

all! A special thank you to

Mr Suttie and Ms Natoli for

coordinating this year’s

concert.

Year 6 Graduation Night

Everyone is really looking forward to the Year 6 Graduation

Evening next Tuesday 16th December, during which

graduates will have the opportunity to give prepared

speeches expressing their feelings and thoughts about their

primary school years and their aspirations for their futures.

School Council President, Paul Newton and I will have the

honours of presenting each student with their Graduation

Certificates and Year 6 photos. The students will also be

receiving graduation bears compliments of our kind PFA.

Academic awards for each subject, and including the Dux

award, will also be presented.

Following the formal ceremony, students will be enjoying

their final Chalcot disco. It is sure to be a very happy and

memorable day for everyone!

Students’ Final Day for 2014

As we have a Curriculum Day on Friday 19th December,

students’ last day of school will be on Thursday 18th

December. Students will be dismissed at the usual time of

3.30pm. We will be holding our final assembly for the year

on Thursday 18th December at 2.45pm. Children will be

dismissed as usual from their classrooms.

Teddy Bear Friends

Last Tuesday saw the final Pre-school to Prep Transition

session; and what a great time everybody had! Each

preschool child once again teamed with their senior Chalcot

Buddy to enjoy a very special Teddy Bear BBQ Picnic. It

was lovely to see our students looking after their little

buddies, taking them by the hand to collect their BBQ lunch

and getting to know each other as they ate.

Canteen News

Due to next Friday’s Curriculum day, the canteen will be

open next Wednesday and Thursday for window and lunch

sales. The canteen will resume for window and lunch sales

next year as normal on Wednesdays and Fridays. Please note

however, the canteen will not be open on Friday 30th

January. The canteen will re-open next year starting

Wednesday 4th

February.

On behalf of the Chalcot Family I would like to take this

opportunity to thank Leanne Antonielli for providing our

students with yummy healthy snacks and lunches. Leanne

provides our community a great service and we are very

grateful!!

Reminder – Class Parties

We will be having our class end of year parties on Monday,

15th

December from 12.30pm to 1.30pm. Students may wear

casual festive dress on this day, but please note NO hair

colouring spray or face paint is permitted and appropriate

footwear must be worn.

Concert under the Oaks

As the school continues to grow, so too does the time needed

to complete all our performances. Next year, we will be

cutting back our items to ensure we have plenty of light for

all to enjoy watching the performances.

School Council would like to remind our school community

and visitors, that school activities involving our children are

alcohol free events.
