Autumn, 2016

The leaves are falling from the trees in the UK as autumn has begun, in other parts of the Empresaria world, spring has started and summer is welcomed. It is also three months post the Brexit vote and the UK looks in better shape than some had feared. Brexit is now shifting from a shock political event to a prolonged, lengthy and complex process. Shares in UK employment agencies have risen since early July suggesting that investors are not betting on a big downturn in the jobs market. The outlook for emerging markets has also brightened somewhat.

Renewed confidence in emerging markets has been driving consumer spending, which is one of the big engines behind domestic economic growth. Growth in the emerging markets is widely expected.

Overall prospects for global growth seem a little better than might have been feared in the immediate aftermath of Britain’s Brexit vote.

It is against this background that we at Empresaria have started the race to the finish off this year firing on all cylinders to drive in a good group result. As a group, we continue to expand in high growth sectors and/or regions.

We are very pleased to have announced the investment in ConSol Partners in early October. Headquartered in London, with offices in Boston and Los Angeles, ConSol is an international leading IT staffing company offering services to clients in the UK, Europe and USA.

1299 – Teemu Asikainen The Mediradix team pictured above took part in the Fight Back Charity Run. On 3 September, 2016. Background behind the run: The founder and the face of Fight Back, Pekka Hyysalo, was only 19 years old when he had a life threatening accident while free skiing filming sessions six years ago. He fell into coma for several weeks with a life threatening TBI (traumatic brain injury) with quadriplegia. He started his fight back to life! This is also the origin of the Fight Back brand. Pekka wanted to help other people with head trauma hence the initiative. Pekka also took part in the running event and ran 10,4Km!

IMS H1 Review Meeting in Gods own Country – Kerala, Munnar

IMS Key management concluded their H1 review meeting at the end

of July, 2016. The venue was Munnar, a hill station in Kerala which

is extremely lush and green with tea estates all around.

LMA participated in the JP Morgan Corporate Challenge run in Battersea Park, London on

the 20th July.

On a very warm night all of their runners completed the course posting some great times.

Special well done to Mark Allan who finished in 28 minutes and was the top LMA runner.

As in usual LMA style, they all celebrated in the pub afterwards!

A really enjoyable McCall Summer Conference in August was had by all at McCall and particularly good to see

our colleagues from our offices in Singapore and Sydney.

Although it is worth noting that McCall placed recruitment candidates in many other geographical locations,

e.g. the Middle East.

FastTrack Cocktail Making Class 2016

Celebrating a fantastic 2nd Quarter set of results, our Manchester & Birmingham Teams were rewarded with a

fantastic night of cocktail making!

Barman Tom from local company ‘Shaken and Stirred’, gave the staff from both offices lessons on how to make

their favourite cocktail; talking through the ingredients and most importantly which are shaken and which are

stirred!

Birmingham-based consultant Kris Asson had a great review of the evening; “A fantastic night had by all,

celebrating both offices beating their targets for July! Not only was it a great laugh but it was also nice to get the

chance to relax and have some fun with some of the Manchester and Watford Consultants!”
