Ever since 1960, Kuhn Special Steel has been a specialist in
centrifugal casting. As an expert in the field of stainless-steel
production and machining, Kuhn Special Steel is manufacturing
rolls for the use in continuous-strip galvanizing plants
since decades.
We manufacture and fabricate sink rolls, stabilizing and correcting rolls in house for delivery from a single sup-
plier. We are responsible for the complete and reliable control of the production process. This includes
end bells made using a wide range of materials and manufac-
turing processes (as single-piece castings or two-part welded
components).
When welding end bells into our centrifugally cast casings, we
rely on many years of experience and special processes in order
to create a corrosion resistant joint that is highly reliable
even around welded seams.
Kuhn Special Steel rolls are used in continuous galvanizing
plants all over the world. Even with our customers’ wide range of
bath compositions, Kuhn Special Steel has been able to achieve
improvements in service life and associated plant downtime, as
well as demonstrable improvements in productivity.
Depending on the application concerned, we can supply a
range of customized surface finishes. We also carry
out surface processing in-house to ensure that the finished
component reaches the customer as a ready-to-install item. This involves working hand-in-hand with renowned sup-
pliers of coating and finishing systems to optimize consistently
the results obtained.
We offer tailored material solutions to meet the cor-
responding individual needs of our customers regarding such
items as bath composition and end bell design, etc.
