Common Questionnaire• ± 280 objective questions• 7 different Questionnaires• Available in four languages• Not static, but adopted as necessary• Aim to avoid different interpretations

of the questions objectivity• Carried out in relative short time period

Inspector = ambassador of the organisation

Basic requirements:– Theoretical knowledge– Practical experience– Followed the training course

and succeeded the test

EBIS-inspectors

Today, October 12th., 2011:

- 53 Accreditated EBIS-inspectors.

- 48 EBIS-inspectors with ADN type-C Accreditation.

- 29 EBIS-inspectors with ADN type-G Accreditation.

- 16 EBIS-inspectors German language.

- 6 EBIS-inspectors French language.

- 31 EBIS-inspectors Dutch language.

Areas of Cooperation

Central database

• Only members can initiate an inspection

• Inspector is contacted by EBIS member

• 7 days time for owners to give comments

• Report stays valid for 12 months

• IVR– General support– Promotion

• PHAROX– IT management

Cost of EBIS

• Non-profit organisation

• Costs spread over members

• No charge for accessing a report

Juridical aspects

• NO “EBIS approved” vessels

• Inspector only states facts

• Member will judge the report

• No limit to any normal commercial practice
