The SOLAS requirements for Verified Gross Mass (VGM) of packed containers became effective on 1 July 2016. To further support the smooth implementation of these
requirements, the WSC and ICHCA, in collaboration with shippers and insurers, on 27 June 2016, published a second set of frequently asked questions (FAQs)
regarding the SOLAS VGM requirements, supplementing the joint industry FAQs published in December 2015.
