118 Handwriting for 7 years and under, this verse to be printed

Windy Nights

Rumbling in the chimneys, rattling at the doors

Round the roofs and round the roads the rude wind roars;

Raging through the darkness, raving through the trees

Racing off again across the grey seas.

119 Joined Handwriting for 8 years and over.

Sevens

Seven Sisters in patchwork cloaks

Sat in the shadow of the Seven Oaks

Stringing acorns on silken strings

Awaiting the coming of Seven Kings

Seven years they endured their trials

And then they consulted their seven Dials

‘O it’s time, it’s time, it’s time ,’ they said

‘It’s very high time that we were wed!’

OSMOTHERLEY SHOWHow to find us

From the SouthAbout 9 miles north of Thirsk on the A19 there is a little sign to the right sayingThimbleby, I advise you not to turn across the carriageway here but to go about1 mile further on and take the left turn to Osmotherley. Come down to the T-junction, turn left again to Osmotherley and go under the bridge (under theA19). DO NOT take the right turn to Osmotherley the road is not suitable forlarge vehicles. Keep left, the sign says Thirsk A19 and come back 1 mile southon the A19, to the turning that says Thimbleby, turn left and follow the little country road round until you see the show on your left hand side.

From the NorthGo on to the A19 and travel on the south-bound carriageway.PAST THE OSMOTHERLEY TURNING, about 1 mile, there is a turning to Thimbleby on your left. TAKE this turning and follow that little country road rounduntil you see the show on your left hand side.

From the WestGo to Northallerton and take the A684 to Teesside and Stokesley.DO NOT go onto the A19, instead go straight on under the bridge (under theA19). DO NOT take the right turn to Osmotherley as the road is not suitable forlarge vehicles but keep left, the sign says Thirsk A19, and go 1 mile on thesouth-bound carriageway of the A19 until you see the turning left to Thimbleby, turn left and follow that little country road round until you see the show on yourleft hand side.
