Programme summary

This programme is designed for those who want to learn the basics of accounting and financial terminology and financial analysis techniques. It will teach you how these concepts are integrated into your organisation’s strategies and performance.

You will learn how to address and communicate financial problems more effectively, how to identify relevant financial information, and how to apply the financial analytical skills needed to make more informed business decisions.

The challenge of identifying, measuring and communicating economic information is not straightforward, and a deeper understanding of accounting requires an appreciation of both the strengths and limitations of data. This informs the analysis and interpretation of financial statements.

This programme uses a variety of teaching methods, including lectures, worked examples and class discussion, to demystify the language of accounting and finance for non-financial managers.
