NATIONAL THEATRE LIVEHISTORIC ASOLO THEATER$20 / $18 for Members

Join us for HD screenings of productions from the UK’s National Theatre. Each broadcast is filmed in front of a live audience with cameras positioned throughout the theater to ensure the “best seat in the house.”

THE KING AND IFRI, JAN 11, 1:00 & 6:30 PMLincoln Center Theater’s multi-award winning, and critically acclaimed, production of The King And I was recorded live at London’s iconic Palladium. Set in 1860s Bangkok, this musical tells the story of the

unconventional and tempestuous relationship that develops between the King of Siam and Anna, a British schoolteacher whom the modernist King brings to Siam to teach his many wives and children. With one of the finest scores ever written, The King and I is a testament to the lavish heritage of gloriously romantic musical theatre.

ANTONY & CLEOPATRA NATIONAL THEATRE LIVE

FRI, JAN 25, 1:00 & 6:30 PMRalph Fiennes and Sophie Okonedo play Shakespeare’s famous couple in his great tragedy of politics, passion, and power. Caesar and his assassins are dead, general Mark Antony rules

alongside his fellow defenders of Rome, and at the fringes of a war-torn empire, Egyptian Queen Cleopatra and Mark Antony have fallen fiercely in love. In a tragic fight between devotion and duty, obsession becomes a catalyst for war.

TROILUS & CRESSIDA ROYAL SHAKESPEARE COMPANY

FRI, FEB 15, 1:00 & 6:30 PMMad Max meets Ancient Greece in Shakespeare’s play of love, war and celebrity. Troilus and Cressida swear they will always be true to one another. But in the seventh year of

the siege of Troy, their innocence is tested and exposed to the savage corrupting influence of war —with tragic consequences. Virtuoso percussionist Evelyn Glennie collaborates with RSC Artistic Director Gregory Doran to create a satirical futuristic vision of a world resounding in battle.
