Announcements

New Minister and Family After several months of prayerful searching, Eric Petty has been hired to be the new minister at Skyline. Eric and his wife, Stacy, have two daughters, Chaney and Lily. His first Sunday at Skyline will be February 4, 2018. Eric is currently the Associate Minister at Bammel Church of

Christ in Texas.

We would like to thank the Minister Search Committee for the many long hours of listening to sermons, researching, talking, interviewing, and most importantly praying over the process of selecting a minister.

Quentin Parker and Shelby Gowen Wedding As most of you know, Quentin Parker, son of Karen and Quentin, will be marrying Shelby Gowen on December 16, 2017 in Arkansas. Due to conflicts, a wedding shower given by Skyline ladies could not be scheduled for them. Because of this, we will honor them by placing a basket on the Welcome Center in which gifts can be placed. (gift cards, check, gifts, etc.) We would like to wish Quentin and Shelby much joy as they begin this new journey.

Make Your Plans Now!

The Children’s Christmas Program will be December 17th at 5 pm in the Worship Center. Make plans now to attend and support our children. A meal will follow the program. We ask our members to bring mac and cheese, corn, green beans, and desserts. Drinks and meat will be provided.

Heartfelt Ministries In January there will be kick-off for Heartfelt Ministries. If you have not signed up yet, there is still time. A signup sheet is at the Members’ Corner. Be watching the bulletin or Friday’s Email Update for the time and date.

Save These Dates - Jan. 12-14, 2018 Skyline has set aside January 12-14, 2018 for a Marriage Retreat. It is for couples of all ages and will be held at Kentucky Dam Village (no children please). The speakers/facilitators are a father and son team, Mark & Ryan Smith. Mark is the pulpit minister at Laurel Church of Christ in Knoxville. Cost and reservation information will be available in the next few weeks.

Welcome Guests! We would like to welcome you to our service today! Please take the time to fill out a Connection Card, which you will find located in the seat back in front of you, and place it in the offering plate.

Events & Announcements Team Brodie - St. Jude Marathon

On December 2, St Jude Children’s Research Hospital will be having their yearly Marathon. There are a large number of people from Skyline running in this Marathon on behalf of Brodie Quinn. Team Brodie is running to help make a difference in the lives of kids with cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

Some of you may not know Brodie’s story. Brodie is the son of Sarah and Joshua. He was diagnosed with Philadelphia Positive Pre-B ALL (leukemia) in June 2011, the day before Brodie turned 5. He has endured chemo, a bone marrow transplant, and a relapse which caused him to have a 4 month hospital stay. He then began a 3 year long treatment plan with chemo. Brodie has been in remission since April 2012, but still goes monthly for labs and tests. The Quinn’s have developed a mantra they now use, ’One Step At A Time’.

Because St. Jude is such an integral part of the Quinn’s lives and the Quinn’s are such an integral part of Skyline, we are asking that you consider making a donation to Team Brodie! To make a donation, go to:

William Murphy will be our speaker today. William is our Youth Intern

working with Cory this year. He is also has been very involved with the

college ministry, Encounter.
