The battle of the Alamo was a pivotal event in the Texas Revolution. After that it followed a 13 day siege, Mexican troops under President General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna launched an assault on the Alamo mission near San Antonio de Bexar ( which is in present day San Antonio, Texas). Causalities and losses 400-600 killed or wounded for Mexico: 180-258 killed. During the battle for Republic of Texas.
