1. Economy

1.1. Dynamics and development of economy

According to estimates by the Federal Institute for Programming of Development for 2013, GDP (gross domestic product) in the Federation of BiH was 16,800 million KM (including unrecorded economy NOE), while in the BPK (Bosnian-Podrinje Canton) amounted to about 222 million what in relation to the GDP of the FBiH is 1.3% and in relation to GDP BiH amounts to 0.8%.Looking at the trend in GDP in the period 2010 - 2013 , in the BPK was observed the growth of GDP but at a very low rate. In 2013, GDP increased by 2.8% compared to the year 2012.

In 2013 the estimated GDP per capita (present population) in FBiH amounted to 7.188 KM, while in the BPK Gorazde amounted 6.839 KM or 95.1 % of the FBiH average. In the last three years (2011 - 2013) there is a trend of growth of GDP per capita in the BPK Gorazde. In the period 2011 - 2013 , the index of development of BPK Gorazde had a growth trend (from 87.3 to 91.3) and ranked the 6 position on the ranking list of the cantons in the FBiH.Employment rates in the BPK Goražde of 19.3% is greater than of the FBiH by 3.8%, and the unemployment rate in the BPK Goražde of 37.1 % is lower than in the FBiH 21.7%.

1.2. Analysis of imports and exportsIn the BPK Gorazde in 2014, the total export of 136,183,000 BAM was achieved. In the BPK Gorazde in 2014 the total amount of imports of 100 888 000 KM was achieved. The coverage of imports by exports in the BPK Gorazde, in 2014, amounted to 135%. Most exports in the BPK Gorazde is realized in manufacturing (95.4%) and the least in agriculture, forestry and fisheries (0.7%), while exports are not realized in the sectors of mining and quarrying and the production and supply of electricity.

1.3. BusinessesBPK Gorazde , in 2013, had a total of 1,412 registered businesses, which is 1.1% of the total number of business entities in the Federation, and out of which 519 legal entities, 418 business units within the legal entities and 475 tradesman . Per thousand inhabitants in the BPK comes 43.5 enterprises, which is 21% less than the average for the FBiH. The largest number of businesses in the BPK is registered in the municipality of Gorazde (87.8%), while the number of enterprises per 1,000 inhabitants in this municipality is the lowest (41.8) and the largest number of businesses per 1,000 inhabitants has a municipality of Pale, the FBiH (65.9). A number of large companies (> 250 employees) = 4. The number of medium-sized companies (> 50 <250) = 7. The number of small businesses (> 10 <50) = 27.

1.4. Business zoneIn the area of BPK Gorazde, the total coverage by industrial land is about 90 hectares, which is divided into brown zones (96.7%) and the green zones (3.3%). The industrial zones with a developed infrastructure make 73% and 27% with no infrastructure. The largest area of industrial land in BPK is in the municipality of Gorazde.

In the business zones of BPK currently operates 16 registered companies, with the largest number of companies (8) located in a commercial zone Vitkovići in Gorazde, and then in the business zone Pobjeda (5). In the industrial zone Viničica in the municipality of Pale there are 8 facilities in which currently is in progress the opening of the factory for production of chips/fries and a factory for the production of animal feed, as well as a factory for refrigerator cars. In the Gorazde municipality in the zone Rasadnik, a facility 1 of the business entity has been built, and its current utilization is 30%.

EBI Ltd was founded on 27.07.2010. by Enisa and Redzo Bekto. The business relies heavily on the company Bekto-Precisa Ltd. of whom redeems and resells most of the products, using the services of their labor forces as well as the rooms where the headquarters of the EBI is. In addition to existing companies that are located in the industrial zone Vitkovići – former HI AZOT a significant part of the industrial zone is occupied by companies BEKTO-PRECISA Ltd. and EBI Ltd. owned by the family Bekto which cover an area of approximately 60,000 m2.
