SINOPSIS / SYNOPSISLadislao Orosco emprende un viaje por las montañas en el sur de Argentina. Lo motivan sus ansias de encontrar un ejemplar de huemul, ciervo autóctono cuyo único destino parece ser la extinción. A su lado permanecerá un viejo y fiel amigo, Nazareno Rodríguez.El joven con sangre Mapuche irá en busca de su identidad: si el huemul está vivo, hay una esperanza para él.A través de los días, la magia de la búsqueda en las tierras patagónicas acompañará a los expedi-cionarios. Ellos se resistirán a desaparecer.

Ladislao Orosco sets out a journey around the montain Chain, in the south of Argentina. He is logning to find a Huemul specimen, a native deer whose only fate appears to be extinction. His loyal old friend Nazareno Rodríguez will remain by his side in this adventure. The young mapuche will set out in search of his identity: if the Huemul is alive, there is still hope for him. The magic of a quest in the vastness of the Patagonian land will keep the expeditionaries company through the days. They will hold out against disappearing.

BIOGRAFÍA DEL DIRECTOR / DIRECTOR’S BIOGRAPHYJuan Diego Kantor nació en Roma, Italia, el 5 de julio de 1979. Estudió en la Escuela Provincial de Cine y Televisión de Rosario, Argentina.En el año 2005 codirige con Ricardo Robins el documental “Gran Inundado, el Reality Show de Cristalería”. Mención Especial 14º Festival Latinoamericano de Video Rosario, Argentina. Mención Honorífica V Encuentro Contra el Silencio Todas las Voces, México. Premio Mirada sobre el Cine Argentino 10º Festival La Sudestada, Francia.En el 2010 produce el largometraje de ficción “Velador” (en desarrollo). Premio Desarrollo Ficción Programa Estimulo a la Producción Audiovisual Santafesina. Finalista 4º Concurso Federal de Proyectos Raymundo Gleyzer. Selección 4° concurso Nuevas Miradas EICTV, Festival Internacional de la Habana, Cuba.

Juan Diego Kantor was born in Rome, Italy, on July 5th 1979. He studied at the Provincial School of Cinema and Television of Rosario, Argentina. In 2005 he co-directed the documentary “Gran Inundado, el Reality Show de Cristalería” (“Big Flood, Cristalería Reality Show”) together with Ricardo Robins, which was awarded a Special Mention at the XIV Festival Latinoamericano de Video Rosario, Argentina. It was also awarded an Honourable Mention at the V Meeting Contra el Silencio Todas las Voces, Mexico, as well as the prize Mirada sobre el Cine Argentino during the X Festival La Sudestada in France.In 2010 he produced the fiction feature film “Velador” (under development). This was awarded the Programa Estimulo Fiction Development prize to Santa Fe Audiovisual Production and it was finalist at the IV Projects Federal Contest Raymundo Gleyzer. It was also selected at the IV contest Nuevas Miradas EICTV, during the International Festival of Habana, Cuba.
