The Burlingame Elementary Enrichment Program has consistently provided a variety of classes for students at all 5 of the Burlingame Elementary Schools. Classes are held at the school sites after school; children may attend classes at schools in which they do not attend during the regular school day. Children who take after school programs over the course of their lifetime consistently improve test scores in school, have better than average social skills, and tend

to participate in less mishievous activities. After school enrichment programs have a proven benefit for your children, your family, and the community.

Thank you for supporting the Burlingame Elementary Enrichment Program!

Driver Safety Program (age 50+) with Patrick Cloherty Developed by the American Association of Retired Persons (A.A.R.P.), Driver Safety Program is the first comprehensive driver retraining course geared to the specific needs of older motorists. The course material covers the effects of aging and medications on driving, basic driving rules, license renewal, local traffic hazards, adverse road conditions, energy saving, and accident prevention measures.Research shows that older drivers are involved in no more accidents than their middle-age counterparts when the record is based on actual miles driven. However, research also indicates that older persons can improve their driving abilities through additional training, attention, and practice, enabling them to maintain their driving licenses longer while driving safer. California enacted legislation in 1987 requiring all automobile insurance companies to provide a discount to graduates of state-approved driver improvement courses.
