ZUMBA

On February 19th 2013, the Bravo Bulldogs participated in Zumba Physical Training, organized by SPC Shaw. SPC Shaw organized Zumba for Bravo Detachment so the unit would be able to switch up their physical training and bring something unique to start off the day . According to CPT Graziano, “Emily, his wife, told him it was dancing” so he dressed up for the occasion by wearing a Tuxedo T-shirt. The instructor that SPC Shaw coordinated to teach the class is Mrs. Leila Alvarez, who teaches Zumba at the Katterbach, Germany Gym. During the class, the instructor used different types of music from pop , hip-hop, and reggae. From the beginning to the end of the class a lot of people loosened up and really got into doing Zumba PT and really enjoyed the class and would be willing to participate in Zumba again. - SPC Shaw, Lindsey

Sexual Harassment Assault Response Prevention

Our Sexual Harassment Response and Prevention class was a great refresher. Getting too complacent in the work place can contribute to harassment whether the person is aware of it or not. Gestures about religion and certain kind of “ jokes” can result in undisclosed harassment to a peer that may be unseen. Sharp classes remind us to be aware of our actions through the work place and be mindful of our peers. Sharp is important training that can enable the team to preventing future harassment. Consistent training will only result in a better working environment and high morale among the team as a whole. Lowering the causes for sexual harassment before it happens can reduce the risk. -PFC Whyte

PROMOTION BOARD

On the 4th of March 2013, I had the opportunity to attend the promotion board. Many refer to the board as just a formality. However, gaining promotable status is not a right; it must be earned. One may not know all the answers, but by being confident, having your uniform right, and being professional, you will demonstrate that you have the potential to become an NCO. After the disastrous presentation to the board, in which we had to go out and do it again, I was feeling nervous and tense before going to the board. I was reciting the creeds and songs in my head and could not remember part of the Soldier’s Creed. When it came for my turn, I knocked on the door and waited (it seemed like forever). I was not sure if they heard the knock and if I should knock again. Finally, I heard the summons and went in. I know I was lucky; each board member only asked one question each, and I knew the answer! I achieved my goal of becoming promotable and look forward to earning my stripes. -SPC Johnson

DEACTIVATION

As the deadline approaches for deactivation we have kicked it into full gear and no looking back. We have made countless trips to the recycle center, turn-in logistic centers, and helping other units by donating office supplies. We know the next few month will be a

challenge as we continue to have Soldiers PCS and still support 12th

CAB.

M16 RANGE

This was our last M16 Range in our Detachment before we officially deactivate. We continue to stay tactically proficient on are assigned weapons as we train hard.

Farewell

Shocking news! Bulldog lost two outstanding NCOs again; SGT Humphreys and SGT Braimah. The farewell held on March 8, 2013 at the Gourmet Temple, Ansbach. Our beloved 1SG Fowler joined us to say ‘good bye’ to his soldiers. Also, as much as they have served and scarifies to help the Soldiers in Ansbach community, quite a few civilians and Soldiers attended to celebrate their farewell. Just as our Bulldog detachment commander, CPT Graziano always say, the bitter-sweetness was floating on the atmosphere throughout the farewell.

Three years (more or less) as their leader, team, and soldier had been the best and meaningful time for 106th FMSU Bulldogs. Their support was unbelievable, and we thank them very much for everything they did each and every day for our Bulldog and further the military service. It truly had been an adventure for Bulldogs to serve with them, and was grateful for providing their wisdom, guidance, instruction, coaching, and inspiration to help us during several difficult problems and to achieve our goals. We will never forget you, and God bless you.
