Please answer each question with as much detail as possible to help in the judging process.Describe the end use of the building: This is a Single Family Home, built over piles in Monroe County, close to open ocean.

How did SIP construction help you get this job? Due to the location of this project, salty environment, high exposure to wind and humidity that surrounds buildings in Monroe County (The Florida Keys), the contractor wanted to use a material able to be thermal resistant, with high performance in moisture conditions and energy efficient. The system reduced the time of construction on the General Contractor, labor costs and finishes.

SIP wall thickness and core material: 6 3/4" High Impact MgO SIPSSIP roof thickness and core material: 8 1/2" MgO/ Plywood SIPS

Describe the benefits of using SIPs on this project. Did SIPs help save time, labor, construction costs, or energy? This project is located in the Florida Keys, where labor costs are very high and typical concrete structures cost over $100 a SQ.FT. The MgO SIP System was able to meet all of the hurricane code requirements in the highest wind zone in Florida and saved the builder substantial cost over the typical construction.

Describe any innovative design elements or structural engineering involved: This home located in the Florida Keys, Hurricane Coastal Impact Zone, was designed for 180 MPH Hurricane force winds and uses the Innova High Impact MgO SIP Panels, which are tested and approved for plus 200 MPH winds.

Please list any certifications the project received, such as ENERGY STAR, LEED, National Green Building Standard, WELL, Passive House, Green Globes or local green building programs. Only list certifications that are completed: N/A

Describe the HVAC system used on the project: Rheem Split Unit 1.5 Tons

Describe any other energy-saving materials used in the building envelope other than SIPs. List U-values of windows used and the U or R-value of any insulation materials. (judged only for High Performance Category) PGT High Impact - Low E Windows and DoorsWood / Plywood floor trusses R-30 rating

Please list any energy-efficient products or design features, such as lighting, hot water heating, appliances, passive solar (judged only for High Performance Category): Energy Star refrigerator, washer and dryer, dishwasher and water heater.

Were any solar panels installed on the project? If so, indicate the size of the system (judged only for High Performance Category): No solar panels were installed in this project.

Please list any sustainable materials or design features not listed above, such as recycled materials, low-VOC finishes, landscaping, etc. (judged only for High Performance Category): MgO floor plates were used in place of lumber. All lumber members are borate treated.Any additional comments on the project: This Project is located in the Florida Keys, Ground Zero Area of Hurricane Irma, a Category 4 Storm that hit Florida last 2017. Although the surrounding homes and neighborhood were severely damaged, this home received no damage from the storm. Hurricane Irma damages incurred at Ground Zero for this home was $0.
