Existing plant does not have Environmental Clearance as it was in operation prior to September

2006 and obtained only Consent for Establishment from Chhattisgarh Environment Conservation

Board, Raipur.

Now As part of expansion, we are planning to enhance the capacity of Induction Furnace and

establish new unit of Pellet plant, Rolling mill and Ferro alloys. Following is production capacity and

Salient Features of the project:

27.19 acres of land is in possession of management and proposed expansion will be taken

up the existing plant premises.

Total project cost envisaged for the proposed project is Rs. 130.0 Crores.

There are no National Parks, Wildlife Sanctuary, Biosphere Reserve, Reserve forests within

10 Km. radius of the project site.

Kharun river & Kulhan nallah are flowing at distance of 3.2 Kms. & 9.0 Kms. from the project

site.

No forest area is involved in the proposed expansion project.

There are no court / violation cases pending against the project proponent.

Water required for the proposed expansion project will be 760 KLD. Water required will be

supplied by C.G. Ispat Bhumi Ltd.

Closed circuit system will be adopted in the proposed expansion project, hence no effluent will be

generated from the proposed project. Only waste water generated will be sanitary waste water

which will be treated in septic tank followed soak pit.

Ash generated from the Pellet plant will be recycled back into the process. Tar generated from

Producer gas will be given to coal tar distillation units. Slag generated from SMS will be crushed and

after iron recovery the inert material will be used in road construction/given to brick

manufacturers. Mills scales from Rolling mill will be reused in SMS. Slag from FeMn to be reused in

manufacture of Silico Manganese as it contains high MnO2 and Silicon. Slag from FeSi to be used in

cast iron foundries. Slag from SiMn to be used for road construction / slag cement manufacture

33% of total area will be designated for greenbelt.
