Can the mortgage process be something a home buyer actually enjoys? That’s certainly Brian Yampolsky’s goal. As CEO and co-owner of Orion Mortgage Corporation with business partner Joe Ashton, Brian endeavors to make every transaction a “referable experience” for clients and real estate partners. “I’m working with people on something very meaningful to them,” Brian notes. “Buying a home is a big deal for families, so they’re excited, emotional and scared. I try to create an experience of high attention, to help them feel comfortable and put them at a level of ease they won’t find elsewhere.” While plenty of loan originators do a good job, too many do not, Brian notes from his 24-plus years in the mortgage business. One huge missed area is customer service – how the people they serve are treated around a major transaction. His differentiating approach is to listen to what is important to clients and REALTORS ® from the beginning and answer all of their questions along the course of the mortgage process. If problems arise, Brian believes there is always a solution and it’s just a matter of finding it while keeping open communication with all parties. Orion Mortgage’s website summarizes this individualized approach this way: “While your house may look similar to your neighbors’, your home loan experience will be as unique as you are.” Indeed, when asked if he specializes in a particular segment of the market, Brian replies, “We focus on where our customers are coming from and on establishing solid client and REALTOR ® relationships.” He credits his “very attentive and caring staff” for the fact that all of their mortgage business is referrals based. “We have a really great team who show they care,” he says about their six-person team. In fact, they are praised regularly on Yelp for treating clients the way they themselves want to be treated. Furthermore, because Orion Mortgage is small, clients and agents get to work directly with Brian as an owner, not a commissioned loan officer. This means lower costs for clients. Plus, as a brokerage, Brian can shop around for the best available rates. He is licensed in Arizona and primarily services the greater Phoenix area reaching from Scottsdale to Gilbert to Glendale. Brian’s ability to deliver a “high attention experience” comes in part from his first two years in real estate, as an agent assisting a successful luxury home REALTOR ® . This was in 1989, shortly after Brian earned degrees in finance and real estate from the University of Arizona. He found the real estate sales side to be difficult, however. Being exposed to the lending side, he discovered an affinity for it and made the easy transition by 1992. Still, because of that previous experience, when he became a loan originator, he put his focus on “What do I need to do to make REALTORS ® ’ job easier?” After seven years as a mortgage bank- er, Brian saw an opportunity in mort- gage brokering. He joined forces with Joe and launched Orion Mortgage Corp- oration on January 28, 2000. “I have loved every minute of it,” Brian beams. What he most loves is having a significant impact on his clients’ lives, not to mention being able to make the loan process simpler for REALTORS ® , as well. Another love of Brian’s is the Desert Stages Theater, for which he is a board member. All three of his children have participated in this special program that instills self-confidence in children through public performance activities. Brian’s greatest love is spending time with his wife and three children, one of whom is in college. He is also an avid runner. Can the mortgage process be some thing a home buyer actually enjoys? That’s certainly Brian Yampolsky’s goal. As CEO and co-owner of Orion Mortgage Corporation with business partner Joe Ashton, Brian endeavors to make every transaction a “referable experience” for clients and real estate partners.

“I’m working with people on something very meaningful to them,” Brian notes. “Buying a home is a big deal for families, so they’re excited, emotional and scared. I try to create an experience of high attention, to help them feel comfortable and put them at a level of ease they won’t find elsewhere.”

While plenty of loan originators do a good job, too many do not, Brian notes from his 24-plus years in the mortgage business. One huge missed area is customer service – how the people they serve are treated around a major transaction. His differentiating approach is to listen to what is important to clients and REALTORS® from the beginning and answer all of their questions along the course of the mortgage process. If problems arise, Brian believes there is always a solution and it’s just a matter of finding it while keeping open communication with all parties.

Orion Mortgage’s website summarizes this individualized approach this way: “While your house may look similar to your neighbors’, your home loan experience will be as unique as you are.” Indeed, when asked if he specializes in a particular segment of the market, Brian replies, “We focus on where our customers are coming from and on establishing solid client and REALTOR® relationships.”

He credits his “very attentive and caring staff” for the fact that all of their mortgage business is referrals based.

Brian’s ability to deliver a “high attention experience” comes in part from his first two years in real estate, as an agent assisting a successful luxury home REALTOR®. This was in 1989, shortly after Brian earned degrees in finance and real estate from the University of Arizona. He found the real estate sales side to be difficult, however. Being exposed to the lending side, he discovered an affinity for

it and made the easy transition by 1992. Still, because of that previous experience, when he became a loan originator, he put his focus on “What do I need to do to make REALTORS®’ job easier?”

After seven years as a mortgage bank - er, Brian saw an opportunity in mort - gage brokering. He joined for ces with Joe and launched Orion Mortgage Corp-oration on January 28, 2000. “I have loved every minute of it,” Brian beams. What he most loves is having a significant

impact on his clients’ lives, not to mention being able to make the loan process simpler for REALTORS®, as well.

Another love of Brian’s is the Desert Stages Theater, for which he is a board member. All three of his children have participated in this special program that instills self-confidence in children through public performance activities.

Brian’s greatest love is spending time with his wife and three children, one of whom is in college. He is also an avid runner.
