Situated in the heart of the city, The Bothy restaurant has been serving up good old fashioned Scottish hospitality since it opened its doors in 2005. With a focus on using locally sourced ingredients and an extensive selection of wines and whiskies, The Bothy has built a strong reputation for a warm atmosphere and excellent customer service.

Open until 11pm on weeknights and 12.30am at the weekend, we are fully licensed and you can book one of our areas for anything, from a cosy family gathering around a Sunday roast, to a fizz filled canapé reception for a special celebration. We even cater for the little ones, and our downstairs private dining area is the perfect spot of childrens parties, complete with face painter and magician.

It’s nice to give a nod to the past, especially if it’s as special as ours. Formally known as Bordeaux House, our building on Kinnoull St once housed the Matthew Gloag and Son whisky factory. Never heard of them, we hear you say….

Matthew Gloag’s whisky was represented by a native bird of Scotland, the red grouse.
