97 • NICK BOSADefensive End • 6-4 • 263Junior/JuniorFort Lauderdale, Fla.

Ohio State Overview: Nick Bosa is an all-time great Ohio State defensive lineman … a 2017 Big Ten Conference Smith-Brown defensive lineman of the year and an American Football Coach-es Association fi rst-team All-American, Bosa was considered by many as the best player in college football through the fi rst several games of the 2018 season … his 6.0 tackles-for-loss, totaling 43 yards, ranked 10th nationally and were accumulated in only about three halves of football … his four quarterback sacks – third-most nationally – included a strip sack of TCU quarterback Shawn Robinson that resulted in a fumble and an Ohio State touchdown in the hard-fought win … he had tied his career high in tackles – fi ve – in two of the three games this sea-son, and he was the Buckeyes’ leading tackler with 14 … his two fumble recoveries included one he recovered for a touchdown against Oregon State … Bosa was injured in the third quarter of the TCU game though, and after having surgery, he missed the rest of the season, yet still earned honorable mention all-Big Ten honors … with that injury came the close of the Bosa era for Ohio State football … either Nick, or brother Joey, had played for the Buckeyes in 71 of the past 72 games dating to 2013 … and like his brother, Nick was similarly dominant … in fact, the two had virtually identical stats through 30 games: Joey had 34.5 tackles for loss and Nick had 29.0; Joey had 21.0 quarterback sacks and Nick had 17.5 … and here is the testament to how good Nick was: he had similar stats to Joey yet had played more than 600 fewer snaps … as a sophomore in 2017 Bosa led the Buckeyes in tack-les-for-loss (16.0) and TFL yardage (74) with another team-high with 8.0 quarterback sacks … he was second in the Big Ten in both TFLs and sacks … consistently outstanding, he was named a game “champion” by the Ohio State coaches for his eff orts in all 12 wins in 2017, the only defensive player to achieve the feat … he was part of a terrifi c quartet of rotating defensive ends that combined for 42 tackles-for-loss and 24 quarterback sacks, with only eight defensive snaps separating them (Tyquan Lewis led with 534 and was followed by Sam Hubbard with 531, Jalyn Holmes with 527 and Bosa with 526) … Bosa was second on the team as a true freshman in 2016 with 5.0 quarterback sacks … he was an Academic All-Big Ten Conference honoree and a two-time OSU Scholar-Athlete majoring in communications.

Honors & Awards2018: Honorable Mention All-Big Ten2017: All-American (AFCA), Big Ten’s Smith-Brown defensive lineman of the year; All-Big Ten Conference (Coaches & Media), Academic All-Big Ten, OSU Scholar-Athlete2016: Freshman All-American (ESPN), OSU Scholar-Athlete

More on Nick: Nick Bosa was a consensus 5-star prospect in his recruiting class with ESPN ranking him No. 3 overall on its 300, Scout ranking him No. 5 and 247Sports No. 8 … also a near- unanimous No. 1 defensive end prospect with ESPN, Scout and 247Sports ranking him No. 1, and Rivals ranking him No. 2 at the strong side end position … Bosa was fi rst-team 7A all-state as a sophomore and junior and certainly would have been as a senior had he not been injured in game No. 8 and missed the rest of the season … a four-year starter for Aquinas teams that won 7A state championships in 2012 and 2014 under Rocco Casullo and in 2015 under Roger Harriott … recorded 56 tackles, 29.5 tackles-for-loss and fi ve quarterback sacks as a junior in 2014 and had 21, 13.5 and fi ve, respectively, before his injury in 2015 … an Under Armour All-American … is the brother of Ohio State’s two-time consensus All-American and two-time Big Ten defensive lineman of the year Joey Bosa, the third overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft by San Diego …. parents are Cheryl and John Bosa … father was a fi rst-round NFL Draft pick out of Boston College in 1987 by the Miami Dolphins and played three years in the league … uncle, Erik Kumerow, was Ohio State captain in 1987, a two-time all-Big Ten performer and a 1988 NFL fi rst-round draft pick.
