Student Leader Nominees 2018
Yesterday I spent the day working with the Year 5 students on the values, skills and attributes that school leaders have. At the end of the day the Year 5 students nominated 4 boys and 4 girls that they felt would make excellent school leaders. The top 8 boys and 8 girls will then stand for election. Congratulations to the following students who have been nominated by their peers: Charlee Belcher, Cobi Berry, Georgia Saridis, Hamish Seddon, James Friis, Julia Innes, Kaitlyn Young, Lachlan McIntyre, Lucas Doherty, Mabel Moore, Mason Flanagan, Nicholas Hill, Nikita Gale, Sophie
Cornish, Tiffany Clack and Travis Barber.
These students will now present a short 2 minute speech next Thursday morning from 9.30am in the school hall. The election of school leaders will take place after the speeches. Students in Years 2-6 are
allowed to vote in the election.
Cybersafety Parent Information Session
This year our school received funds from the Federal Government to run Cybersafety awareness programs. Students in Stage 2 and Stage 3 have participated in workshops that develop their
understanding of cybersafety.
Next Wednesday, 29th November, at 3.30pm there will be an information session for teachers and parents in the hall. The information session will be presented by Safe on Social Media and will run for approximately 90 minutes. The session will focus on tips for keeping students safe on social media
and the internet. All parents are invited to attend.

P & C NEWS
With many helping hands we can assist the local Samaritans in East Maitland provide much needed relief to in excess of 1000 families living in our area needing help to provide for their families. The volume of assistance required is higher at this time of year therefore we invite the Bolwarra Public School community to assist by collecting non perishable goods including food, drinks, toiletries, cleaning products or pet supplies. These items can be dropped into the office ready for collection and delivery to the Samaritans office in East Maitland to distribute to our local families finding it a little tough this year.
