PRINCIPALS NEWS
School Leaders 2018
On Thursday our student nominees presented their speeches to the school. The standard of speeches was very high with all students speaking confidently in front of a large audience. Each nominee has been provided with a sealed envelope that they can take home this afternoon and open with their family. The envelope contains a letter that will inform if they have been successfully elected to a leadership position. The elected students will then be presented to the school at
Monday morning’s assembly.
Over the coming weeks the House Captains and Vice
Captains will be elected.
School Building Works Update
The Project Reference Group is hopeful that the building works scope will be going out to tender next week. The tender is open for four weeks, which will hopefully mean that the builders will be selected before
we return to school next year.
Over the last couple of weeks classrooms have been trailing some of the types of furniture that we may have in the new rooms. Popular items include the desks that
have a whiteboard surface and the beanbags.
School Fundraising
I am aware that there is currently a mango order being offered in our community. Please be aware that this initiative has not been endorsed by either the P&C or
the school.

When it is your child’s birthday, they have the opportunity to
donate a book of their choice (already purchased by the
library) for the small cost of $6.00. After paying, the children
can come to the library and select a birthday book.
The books will be presented to the children on assembly. Each
book will have a special message inside saying who has
donated the book. The birthday child will be the first to borrow
the book.

CANTEEN NEWS
ATTENDANCE AT SCHOOL Regular attendance at school is important for students to be able to reach their potential. The school is required to record the
reason for any absences. Students are only to be absent when they are sick or have another good reason for missing school. If
your child is sick you can notify us via the Skoolbag App, telephone us, or send a note in when your child returns to school.
You can download the App on Apple or Android devices– simply visit your Apple Store or Google Play Store and search for

P & C NEWS
With many helping hands we can assist the local Samaritans in East Maitland provide much needed relief to in excess of 1000 families living in our area needing help to provide for their families. The volume of assistance required is higher at this time of year therefore we invite the Bolwarra Public School community to assist by collecting non perishable goods including food, drinks, toiletries, cleaning products or pet supplies. These items can be dropped into the office ready for collection and delivery to the Samaritans office in East Maitland to distribute to our local families finding it a little tough this year.
