RingRingMobile.com Young Boholanos bag gold medals Timoteo Leopardas and Leslie Cañete got the gold medals in Electric Arc Welding and Information Technology trades respectively during the TESDA Central Visayas Regional Skills Competition 2005, Oct. 4 to 7, at the City of Bayawan, Oriental Negros. Dubbed as the showcase of the best skilled workers in the region this year's competition bannered the theme "Magkabalikat sa Kasanayan, Magkaagapay sa Kasanayan. With the vision of promoting the quality skills development, recognizing the skills excellence of young skilled workers in the region and with the view of participating in the Philippine and International Skills Competition, TESDA II with active participation of the private industries, TVIs and Local Government Units conduct this annual event. Sixteen year old Leopardas is a native of Lutao, Inabanga town and is currently enrolled in a three month Welding Course at TESDA Provincial Training Center of Inabanga handled by Marites Ponce, TESD Specialist II his, trainor and coach. On the other hand, 18-year-old Leslie Cañete, TESDA- PESFA scholar is a second year student in Diploma in E- Commerce Programming at STI-Tagbilaran City. She hails from Cabug, Loon town. She is competing under the watchful eye of her instructor and coachh Jerico Legaspi. Before the two bested their counterparts from the three provinces, Leopardas with his coach Ponce honed his skills at the training center and with the support of LGU-Inabanga the two went to Cebu City at the Brilliant Metal Craft and Machine Design which is owned and managed by Edward Dampor the National Galing Pinoy Awardee 2005 and practiced there for 12 days. While Leslie and her coach trained seriously at her school with the full support of the school administration. Both Cañete and Leopardas received cash and diploma of excellence awards including their respective coaches. They will represent the region in the forthcoming Philippine National Skills Competition 2005 on December 2005 in Manila. In addition to the above-mentioned awards both the champions and their coaches received a Traveling Incentive Award Certificate to free them of their traveling, food and accommodation while participating at the PNSC. Young Boholanos bag gold medals

Timoteo Leopardas and Leslie Cañete got the gold medals in Electric Arc Welding and Information Technology trades respectively during the TESDA Central Visayas Regional Skills Competition 2005, Oct. 4 to 7, at the City of Bayawan, Oriental Negros.
