Bite-sized blogging tip on why blogs should be used for websites.TRANSCRIPT
Blogs use CMS(and why that’s so easy for you)
What is CMS?
CMS means Content Management System.
This is a programme that enables the author to easily create, edit and add new content to their blog or website without the use of a webmaster.
Once you’ve finished your new post, it’s very simple to either save or publish it.
This system is WordPress, which is designed to look and perform like ‘Word’ to make it even easier for you.
You just paste or write in your content into these fields.
It’s easy to create new pages too
The same system applies when creating, writing and editing pages too.
It’s important to understand that although posts and pages look and perform the same in the CMS format, they produce different results in your blog or website.
It’s easy to change how your blog looks
You can change the design of your blog by adding in a ‘theme’ or template.
There are literally thousands to choose from via WordPress and elsewhere on the net.
It’s very easy to select the one you like best and activate it on your blog.
No need to worry about links and navigation
CMS also automatically creates new links throughout your blog or website.
For example, a new page’s link will automatically appear in the navigation bar on every page, without you having to manually add it in.
And every time you publish a post its title is added as a link into the sidebar’s list.
And unknown to you, each post is given its own page with its own URL, another link automatically created in your blog.
No need to worry about writing code
WordPress sorts out all the coding for you, and allows you to add in images and links within your posts and pages without you having to understand how to write in the coding language.
And it’s easy to add stuffinto your sidebar
CMS also makes it easy to place content and interactive applications into the sidebar(s) by merely dragging the ‘widgets’ into place and activating them.
CMS is designed to be easy for you to use
That is why I use WordPress because it is one of the easiest content management systems available to create blogs and websites.
And I also fully train my customers how to effectively use their new blog or website once it is ready for them.
I don’t believe a blog or CMS website should be made too difficult to use or edit, or have too much limited access.
And once it is explained properly with easy to understand language using ordinary, everyday words, the new blog or website can be fully integrated into your business’s marketing strategies.
