UBCN CLAREANS 93 in cooperation with BIT International College-Paramedics Department extends their charitable mission to the Earthquake victims at Vega, Antequera, BoholBy Sarah Jane T. Olarita BSRT-IIIChristmas is a season of joy, peace and great tidings with the spirit of unity coupled with the essence of loving, giving and forgiving. This too is a season that we celebrate the birth of our savior Jesus Christ. On the 28th day of December 2013, the Paramedics department officers and UBCN CLAREANS 93 team headed to Vega, Antequra, Bohol to celebrate a Post-Christmas Party for the earthquake victims who had suffered the October 15 traumatic experience. The group prepared goods, gifts and presents to be distributed to the kids, teens and adults there. They also brought snacks and lunch for everyone.Upon their arrival at the area, the group felt the sense of gratitude from the residents manifested by their huge smiles. While the team was busy packing out the presents (donated by the UBCN CLAREANS 93 batch), folks helped the other members of the team in preparing lunch. The program prepared by the group had started immediately. It was opened by an Invocatory song by Ms. Zandra P. Mortejo - Department Treasurer and Mr. Filjen Baja - BIT IC Performing Arts member. It was then followed by different games participated by the kids and the most awaited giving of snacks for the children. Amidst of the unfavorable weather, the gift-giving ceremony which comprises used clothing and vitamins for kids and adults followed. Children were very delighted upon receiving all the gifts and presents they received. Overflowing thank you were expressed by the residents. After the program and gift-giving event, the team together with the Antequeranon shared a luscious lunch. The event was made possible and successful thru the combined efforts of the UBCN CLAREANS 93 headed by Madam Leah Virginia Balite-Lim and the officers under her department.
