    FOREWORD

KMU believes in developing a multi-dimensional comprehensive health care approach

encompassing all the four elements of health i.e. prevention, promotion, curative

intervention and rehabilitation. We aspire to include a health care team approach at all

levels of health care delivery for a comprehensive health care delivery system.

KMU identified the gaps in our health delivery system and pioneered the idea of filling these

gaps. Paramedic profession is a very important component of health which has been

neglected so far. There are some institutions which are providing limited training to this

segment of heath care delivery system. KMU has decided to start the degree programme for

paramedical technology in various disciplines in session 2012-13. It is a 4 years bachelor

programme. The first year is common to all specialities. The subsequent 3 years are

    speciality specific.

The programme will start in the PDA building till a purpose built building is constructed at a

suitable place for institute. For practical training Hayatabad Medical Complex, Khyber

Teaching Hospital and Lady Reading Hospital will be affiliated to the institute.
