Biomass to Liquids
IntroductionThe successful development and production ofalternatives to conventional transport fuels is ademanding challenge in a world faced with decliningfossil fuel resources and the threat of global climatechange. Biofuels are one possible answer to thischallenge but they need to achieve real and significantreductions in greenhouse gas emissions. Life cycleassessment is used to determine the mitigationpotential of biofuels. This class provides the opportunity to learn about theessential aspects of life cycle assessment, in general, and the calculation of greenhouse gas emissionsassociated with biofuels, in particular.
Who should attend?Government administrators, policy-makers andcommercial decision-takers, development teamsincluding engineers, economists, accountants andproject managers, non-governmental organisationrepresentatives, policy analysts, journalists, researchers, and life cycle assessment practitioners.
