Making Every Day Count

With the disruptions that the COVID-19 Pandemic has caused during the first semester of the school year, it is important that we all get back into good school attendance routines. So far this term our whole school attendance is 89.3%, we need to get better and make ‘Every Day Count!’ the 28-7-2020 has been our best day of attendance with a percentage of 92.7%, let’s keep the improving attendance trend going!

Below are some tips that we communicate to students. There are also two links that support parents/carers in getting their children to school as well as a link to an engaging child-friendly ‘Every Day Counts’ site.

Tips for Making Every Day Count

1. Don’t think about it - Just do it, go to school. Sounds simple, because it is. School attendance should become a habit.

2. Get to bed early - Yeah, we know it sounds preachy, but it’s important. Go to bed late on weekends, that’s what they're for. During the week, though, be sensible: hit the hay early. It’s a sure way to make the most of your school day.

3. Dream big - What’s this about? It’s thinking possibilities, more importantly your career and work possibilities. Whatever your dream is, school is important in making sure you achieve it. 4. Teamwork - Check in with your friends to make sure they’re turning up, and hopefully they’ll do the same for you. What’s your tip for turning up?

Let the school know if your child won ’t be attending school by either:

A reminder to read at home on a consistent basis. Make it a fun and enjoyable family experience!

Prep 2021 Enrolments

Enrolments for Prep 2021 are now open! If your child was born between 1st July 2015 and 30th June 2016 then they are eligible for Prep!

Prep interviews will be held in Week 9 of this Term. Please ensure you have returned completed enrolment documents and original birth certificate as soon as possible. More information will be provided soon around interviews and Prep open mornings.

Parents on School Grounds

Families are reminded that restrictions are still in place at school and that you must not enter our school grounds unless you are visiting administration via Rainbow Street.

Again we thank everyone for supporting this restriction at present.

All the best.

The P&C are looking for more parents / grandparents / carers and members of the school community to come to our monthly meetings. Meetings are held second Monday of each month at 3.30pm (usually in the staff room). Next Meeting is 10th August 2020 (location TBA due to COVID restrictions). We are after ideas / your thoughts on: Fundraising we are looking at proceeding with - Are the ideas something parents would support? Are the students/parents still in-

terested in the colour run? Have you got other suggestions for fundraising? What changes should be considered for tuckshop? Are parents wanting more days, different foods, new menu? What you would like to see at school? If you are a Year 5 parent, come along and hear what school camp fundraising is happening. This went well to get ideas for the

next year’s camp to keep camp costs down for parents. All ideas welcome. All welcome - Come along, be involved and make a difference. Joining the P&C is a great way to get involved in your child’s education and have your say on school issues. Looking forward to seeing some new members on 10th August. Emma Maxwell P&C President
