Z How To Study the Bible SEMINAR Y
During this seminar Dr. Stephen Lennox will offer a clear, step-by-step approach that anyone can follow. You'll have plenty of hands-on practice and opportunity for questions. Individual passages will become more clear when read in light of God's all-encompassing story of redemption. Beginners will be amazed at what they can do by the end of the sessions, and those with more experience will be equipped to dig deeper.
Dr. Lennox has served as a professor and author of
several books on the Bible. He is currently the
president of Kingswood University in New
Brunswick, Canada.

It is our goal at Bethany to teach
children about Jesus in a fun and
meaningful way! For the last few
weeks, we have enjoyed meaningful
lessons and small group times, learning about the
Promises of God. These small group interactions are
extremely helpful in deepening the faith of a child.
Along with learning, the children also have the
opportunity to be a part of some fun “theme” nights.
Upcoming activities include indoor pool parties,
bowling nights, and fun with Tootsie the Clown for the
little ones! There is always something new and
exciting to be a part of at Kingdom Kids! Our last
event before the summer will take place on May 18.

I'm so thankful for Bethany Wesleyan and the generosity with the college fund. I attend IWU and it is very expensive, so any bit of money helps. The money I receive from the church allows me to pursue my dream of becoming a health care professional. My experience at IWU has been such a blessing. I've not only grown as a person, but in my faith as well. I can't wait to see how God will use me to minister as a nurse! — Katie Smith - IWU
Having the scholarship available to me is amazing! It helps relieve some of the everyday stress that college students face with their financials. Also, the fact that the church offers this to me shows me that they believe in me and my academic abilities. It feels good knowing BWC has my back. — Josh Kichline - Houghton College
Receiving this scholarship is one of the ways in which Danielle and I felt affirmed in our call to go back to school. Amidst the stress of figuring out how to pay for college - being young, married, and soon to be unemployed - this scholarship was a way in which we felt God was telling us: "hey, I will take care of you." Additionally, knowing that the church that fostered our faith affirmed our call and was willing to help financially meant the absolute world to us. — Joshua Jacob Mason (JJ and Danielle) - Houghton College
I’m so thankful for having received the BWC Scholar-ship over the past four years. God has used this scholarship to show me His faithfulness when I wasn’t sure how I was going to pay for school. I’m so thankful for all the people who have given to help make my education possible! — Alana Har-rington - IWU
Receiving the Church Matching scholarship from BWC has helped make it possible for me to pursue my dream and calling to serve others through medicine. It has also allowed me to make
connections with professors, coaches, and friends who have helped me grow as a follower of Christ. Having the support from my home church is a great blessing and it affirms the generosity which I hope to practice in my own life — Tyler Laubach - IWU

Each year, BWC invites high school seniors and college students who attend BWC to apply
for a Gilbert/Florence Ziegenfuss Scholarship if they plan to attend any of the five Wesleyan
colleges and universities, which include Houghton College, Indiana Wesleyan University,
Kingswood University, Oklahoma Wesleyan University, and Southern Wesleyan University.
BWC supports college students pursuing higher education at Wesleyan schools because we believe God calls
us to do so. Paul states, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of
your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is — his good, pleasing and perfect
will” (Romans 12:1-2).
The mission of the Wesleyan colleges/universities is to help students use the Christ-centered, renewed mind.
For example, Indiana Wesleyan University describes itself as “a Christ-centered academic community
committed to changing the world by developing students in character, scholarship and leadership.” Likewise,
Houghton College “provides an academically challenging, Christ-centered education in the liberal arts and
sciences to students from diverse traditions and economic backgrounds and equips them to lead and labor as
scholar-servants in a changing world.” Each Wesleyan school prepares students to serve — some to serve as
ministers, worship leaders, and theologians, certainly, but others to serve as teachers, business people,
managers, doctors, social workers, artists, writers, and so on.
Each major, each occupation, is an opportunity to serve and an opportunity to bear witness to God’s grace. The
late Arthur F. Holmes argued that “. . . God’s redeeming grace also affects culture, for the people He makes
whole are cultural beings. . . .They bear witness by their lives, and that includes their arts and sciences and their
politics, to the God in whose image they are being re-created. God’s grace affects a culture through the cultural
penetration of those His grace redeems.”
By supporting our students, we support their future service in the world for God’s glory.
BWC has supported over 35 students with scholarships since 2000.
This year, at least ten students attending BWC are planning to attend Wesleyan colleges and universities.
Your donation to the BWC Scholarship Fund will help support our students as they pursue Christ-centered
educations. Contributions are accepted year-long toward this worthy cause.
Look for these immediate opportunities to make a donation:
A special collection the weekend of March 19 & 20.
The Good Friday Fundraising Dinner: 50% of the proceeds will support the Scholarship Fund.
Please Note: The scholarships provided through BWC are matched by each Wesleyan college/university
up to $1,800 per year per student!
Thank you for your support
Global Partners appointed Rod and Nancy Zottarelli to long-term
missionary service as Missionary Wellness Coaches. Their goal is to use
their experiences as missionaries, along with their pastoral spiritual gifts
and counseling skills, to help missionaries thrive and to support them in
times of need.
Rod & Nancy are currently engaged in partnership development, traveling
for several months to speak at churches. In April they will represent Global
Partners at the International Child Safety Protection Network Annual Conference in Virginia. In May they will
have the opportunity to be at Houghton College in New York at the first ever meeting of all the GP missionaries
from around the world. In June they head to Indiana for three weeks of training and meeting with new missionaries
before their field departure.
Rod & Nancy have weekly Skype meetings mentoring a missionary couple who is new to the Haiti field.
Presently, they are about 50% funded, with a goal of being close to 100% by the end of May!

Growing up at Bethany Wesleyan Church I always thought it'd be awesome to go to a Wesleyan school, but knew it could be tricky financially. The help provided from this church family has been such a blessing, considering that my school, Indiana Wesleyan University, matches it. "Any little bit helps" is quite the truth when it comes to college! Thank you for helping me become one step closer to teaching the future generation of youth! — Alli Laubach - IWU
