INSPIRE Benefit Study – Catalonia

Lessons learnt
For years we have been advocating the potential benefits
Now we start having real evidence on these benefits in managing Our environment, assessing impacts across policy areas, and improving services to citizens and business
We have to continue to focus on the added value of location Information and on measuring the benefits in both quantitative and qualitative terms
The evidence is difficult to collect but we have shown that is possible to do it
What we need are more studies and more sharing of the findings to build the evidence base to underpin the long term sustainability of the investment
-
• Serve multiple purposes of assessment
• Use multiple assessment methods and approaches
• Do not oversimplify
• Incorporate different views/understandings
• Maintain Flexibility
• Reduce bias
• Provide the full picture
