ASSEMBLIES Trophies for summer sports (cricket, T-Ball and softball) will be presented at our next assembly. Parents of children receiving awards have already been notified. Parents are reminded that this assembly will commence at 2.10pm, Monday 3 June. Special congratulations to the softball A and B and T Ball A teams who are Zone Premiers with the Junior cricket as Zone runners up. Due to the considerable number of Bronze award recipients now, these students will only stand to be acknowledged at the as-semblies. YEAR 2 SWIMMING SCHEME As part of our PD/Health/PE program, all Year 2 students will be attending the extensive swimming scheme in Week 2 of Term 3 from Monday 29 July to Friday 2 August. Details of the program will go home later in the term. Pools will be heated. REGIONAL CROSS COUNTRY Well done to the Cross Country team who represented Belrose at the Zone Carnival. It was great to see the support from many parents and friends. Congratulations to Will K for winning his event, coming in 100m in front of all his competition. He convinc-ingly led the race from the beginning. Congratulations also to Sarah W and Thomas J for moving on to the Regional with Will C and Harry H coming 7th in both their races. In a highly demanding endurance race, we are all very proud of your achievements. SPORT PSSA teams will be organised tomorrow with notes going home on Monday. Although Mr Davidson will be training the AFL teams, Mr Niklas Martin will be taking and refereeing the games on a Friday until Term 4, Week 3 when Mr Davidson will resume the role. Each Friday, I will be taking the Years 3-6 tennis group to Evolve Tennis Academy. The $127.50 program covers 11 weeks of lessons for 11/2 hours each Friday morning. Please ask your child to obtain a note from the office. AREAS OF SCHOOL TO BE PAINTED Please refer to email sent on Tuesday, 28 May, 2019. SO MANY AUTHORS IN THE ONE PLACE AT BELROSE PS. A special thank you Matthew Shallvey for organising this for me. Hopefully everyone has seen the upcoming Author visits following lunch next Thursday 6 June at the school through the Face-book page. We are fortunate to have present the 10 Authors/Illustrators from the CBCA (Children’s Book Council of Australia) - Northern Beaches Sub Branch, as part of their 10 year anniversary celebrations. The authors and illustrators will be delivering some engaging sessions across K-6 classes about writing and illustrating children’s books. As part of the event, the students and their parents will be able to meet up with authors from 3pm to 3.30pm in the school library to purchase signed copies by the authors. Books range in price from $10.00-$20.00. If you are available to support this event and are interested in purchasing any of the authors’ books at the end (3pm to 3.30pm in the library) that would be great. The authors and illustrators are providing this great event free of charge so it would be nice to see a couple of book purchases going their way as well as some fine reading material for your children. We have a great line up so please spread the word around to other Belrose Public families. Belinda Zorian Principal

For Crazy Sock Day we are going to be donating all the money to our World Vision child, Paul Ndurutu. The money raised will improve his clean water, improve the sanita-tion in his village, child protection improvements and hygiene. Paul is 12 years old, in Year 7 and his favourite subject is mathe-matics and he loves sport, especially soccer. He lives in Kenya which is on the East Coast of Africa. In his vil-lage the access to safe water is 63%. There are 61,000 people in his village. Paul desperately needs your help, so bring in $2.00 to wear your crazy socks for the day.

By Charli M and Kade S OK Belrose it is now that time that we all wear our crazy socks to school.. We are supporting Paul our World Vision child. You will need a pair of crazy socks and a $2.00 coin to donate. We have a goal to hit and the goal is $700 and it would be amazing to raise that goal for Paul. So remember to bring a $2.00 coin and wear some crazy socks.

On the 3 May all of Stage 3 came into our class room to vote for our BASA patch. They were all amazing, but one stood out from the rest and that was Xavier M. His was amazing. Stage 3 are lucky enough to be able to use Hummingbirds which are Robotics that you control with a laptop or an Ipad. We will place it in our probe which we will drop off the balcony.
