Katerina is shy and sometimes has challenges with bonding with new people. But she connected with her teacher and formed many new friendships. She loves school and is excited to go each morning. Her favorite things about school are art projects and playing in the gym. She always leaves school happy and shares fun stories about school and her teachers when she is at home.

Discovery through PlayWe believe in inspiring each child’s curiosity through play. That’s why New Life Academy uses a blended approach of academic learning and play-based learning. Our days are divided between structured learning time for Kindergarten readiness and child-directed play where children have time to choose their own activities and guide their own learning based on their curiosity and interests. If you entered our classrooms, you would see thematic centers that allow for dramatic play, STEAM areas, reading nooks, blocks, and free play areas. Play-based learning helps a child develop holistically through social-emotional learning, developing confidence and motivation. Using this blended approach, our students are ready for Kindergarten academically, socially, emotionally, and cognitively.

Early Ed Classrooms

Preschool Prep is designed for children who missed the preschool cutoff in September, children who are

still working on potty training, or children with late summer birthdays. Children in this class will engage

in learning centers that promote development in fine and gross motor skills as well as visual and auditory

perceptual skills. Students learn math readiness with activities in numbers, counting and patterns. Monthly

thematic units include STEAM activities.

skills as well as visual and auditory perceptual skills. Lessons that promote reading and math readiness

while nurturing language skills through listening, speaking, reading and writing. Monthly thematic units

include STEAM and are introduced to physical, life and earth sciences.

Children in this class will engage in learning centers that promote development in fine and gross motor

skills as well as visual and auditory perceptual skills. Math readiness activities including numbers, counting,

and patterns. Students begin activities that develop writing and reading readiness. Monthly thematic units

include STEAM activities and Countries of the World.

Our school day is from 8 am - 2:40 pm. Extended care is available starting at 7 am and ending at 5:30 pm. Choose between 2-days (T/

Th), 3-days (M/W/F) or 5-days (M-F) schedule.

Children will eat lunch in the cafeteria and can choose between hot lunch or bring cold lunch from home. Rest/Quiet time is provided

each day in the afternoon. Specials each day include Art, Music, PE, library, and Spanish*. All curriculum incorporates Bible stories,

songs and prayer as a core part of a New Life Academy education.

*Frequency and number of specials each week is dependent on the program. 2-day classes will experience fewer specials compared to 3 and 5-day classes.

Chapel and Bible curriculum teach our youngest learners about Biblical truths and principals that they can hide in their little hearts as they begin to understand a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Mateo began his journey in Kindergarten at New Life Academy. Just a few weeks into the school year, his parents were able to identify the growth that had already started to show. The high quality academic program that incorporates STEAM/STEM even in these young grades. Time spent in the makerspaces and in project-based learning has inspired Mateo to be a curious student asking questions and exploring new ways of doing things. By the end of the school year, they were able to identify substantial academic growth in Mateo compared to their neighborhood friends. They contribute this to the small classes that allow the teachers to get to know each student personally and differentiate the instruction for each child.
