PROGRAM

Dental Week. Lara Mayne a

Dental Health Therapist from

Community health visited

Wednesday and Friday. She did

a very good job, keeping the

message simple and clear for

the children.

Preschool photos - we will let

you know once they come back

in. It usually takes several

weeks.

National Science Week. Our

little scientists had so much fun

with all the activities on offer.

We had several parents stay to

help which meant we could offer

more. Heidi from Eurobodalla

Shire Council came to help us

plant some new trees around

the yard and created our new

frog pond. The activities were

based around magnetism, the

environment, the power of air

to make things move, paper and

straw planes, water, animals,

mixtures……….

Nude Food Week. We are

hoping that this idea will

continue on afterwards as it

benefits the environment and

the world our children will grow

up in!

The compost bin has been a

nice little addition to the

sustainability program. Several

children check it and help to

mix / aerate it regularly. During

the last week or two, the earth

worms have begun to take up

residence too.

Excursions:

Moruya Golf Club stepped up

again to help us get back to

Preschool after our excursion

to the Show grounds for

Aboriginal and Torres Strait

Islander Children’s Day. Many

thanks!!

Hayley Van Weerdenberg

hosted the Friday group this

week for a session of dance and

movement in the RSL hall. It

was a really enjoyable and

worthwhile experience. Thanks

Hayley.

St Mary’s Primary School

Musical. The children

thoroughly enjoyed the

performance of ‘Cinderalla &

Rockerfella’ at St Mary’s. It

was great to see some of the

children who use to come to

Preschool up on the stage.

MUNCH & MOVE

We did a little demonstration

for the children which

identified how much sugar is in

common drinks. It is AMAZING!

PARENTS

Thanks to everyone who helped

with the Science week

activities. Haleigh Kidd, Tania

Cardillo-Zallo, Emily Campbell,

Stacy Shepherd, Monica

Gallacher, Matthew Robertson

and Tom Brewer all contributed

to a great week!

Parents are always welcome to

join in with the program or bring

activities in to share. Please see

Cathi or Marie or send us an

email if you have something you

would like to share.

ENROLMENTS FOR 2018

Lesley is currently organising

the enrolments for 2018. So far

the numbers are looking good.

Parents have been very

understanding of the changes

to funding and accepting the

two days preference.

NGROO

We received some feed back on

Monday about our Action Plan.

It has been well received and we

are hoping to implement the

ideas over the next 12 months.

NATIONAL QUALITY

FRAMEWORK

We looked at Quality Area 3 –

Physical Environment. We are

very fortunate to have such

wonderful facilities, resources

and grounds so other than a few

minor items, we are confident in

this area.

STAFF

Marie is to have several days in

the office during the second

last week of term to catch up on

policies/other admin.

We are adding Nicole to the

payroll.

We are looking at the admin.

load and extra hours worked by

Cathi and Marie – while we

have the extra money available,

it would be good if we could

budget for some time off the

floor. We suggest one day each

individually per term (perhaps to

coincide with Directors’ Report)

and one jointly per term for

QIP, planning etc.

Absences: Robyn, Brigitte and

Marie away during the last part

of term.

VISITORS

Helen Fisher and Mark

Pattison visited to help us

organise Nicole Brown’s

employment support.

Margie Malone – UOW

regarding support for

assignments and possible

placement here next year

A few parents have dropped in

to meet staff and have a look at

Preschool.

Jo Matthews and Mick Lowe –

St Mary’s.

Julie Nagle – trainee support.

Julie Kidd – resume.

Annette Anido - TAFE

POLICIES

We are running a little behind

on this at the moment but hope

to catch up soon!!

VARIETY NIGHT

Our gala fundraising Variety

Night is set for Saturday the

21st of October at the Moruya

Golf Club. We are currently

looking for some help to sell

raffle tickets at the markets

and helpers for the night.

Tickets will be available to

purchase from next week.

Keep an eye out for some more

information!
