    Before the Students Arriveblue = helpers can do

    - Set up furniture- Set up desk & teacher area- Desk nameplates- Hallway nameplates (helpers can create more)- Welcome bags (note plus gifts- I gather materials and

    helpers can put together)-

    Parent Packet to send home at open house with schedule,my info, math targets, homework, $5 for parties note, gradelevel note with specializing info, parent/student survey(helpers can copymake 5 extra for new students!)

    - Table references- Label table buckets- Find something to collect/keep community supplies in- Cover hallway bulletin boards with vinyl tablecloth (lemon

    for right outside door, blue for above hooks and across thehall)

    - Sort and label all books- Set up writing center (markers, colored pencils, crayons,

    purple/blue pens, pencil cup for dull pencils)- Print LOTS of WW paper to store in WW cubbies (already

    3 hole punched)

    - Set up math centers (print, lam, and store all)- Set up student computers (4 or 5?)- Make computer login cards- Get a spot ready for headphones- Have number labeled Ziploc bags for student headphones

    - Have class list for supplies checklist and number ref.- Find a good spot for math center board- Find a good spot for easel

    - Sort through math stuff and find a way to store it (by unit?by strand?)- Create lesson plan template and 2-4 weeks of lessons.- New curric. map with Luann & Margaret- Sub binder- Teacher binder (include papers that Id had tacked to back

    counter wall)- Fabric (blue flowered) across clock wall, yellow fabric or

    laminated yellow paper for student display background?,yellow border of either fabric or ribbon (**or fabric onback counter bulletin board?**)

    - Fabric (gray chevron) in teacher area, yellow border ofeither fabric or ribbon

    - Paint small cork boards yellow with white polka dotsaround the outside (maybe with Ms. Smith or Notes or

    something written in blue?)- Student sticks (popsicle sticks with students namesdo 3

    sets with different colored marker for each homeroom.prefer this to numbers because it might be hard knowingnumbers for 3 classes of students)

    - Birthday bags (assemble and label with tags for name andbirthday, organize by date)

    - Laminate, cut, and Velcro lunch card names- New student packets (desk nameplate, hallway nameplate,

    numbered headphone baggie, add birthday to chart,birthday bag, lunch card name tag, welcome bag, indexcard for computer login, reminder note to update class listsand add to Zangle and Standard Score, parent notes to send
