Beach Clean up & protecting sea turtles initiative To help keep our environment clean and protect endangered sea turtles

IntroductionFlorida beaches are an important part to our ecosystem, taking better care of them and protecting endangered sea turtles is vital.Litter impacts people, animals, fish and plants.These conditions affect the quality of our water that we swim in at the beach and the oceans living creatures. Over 100,000 threated and endangered sea turtles nest on Florida beaches every summer.In fact 90% of the sea turtle nesting population in the u.s. occurs in Florida .

Beach clean upmission statementMy aim is to implement A nonprofit group to promote awareness for the importance of keeping our beaches clean and protecting our endangered sea turtle population.Organize a beach clean up once a month on the last Saturday of every monthProvide sea turtle information at each beach clean up Provide informational sea turtle sessions at the beginning of nesting season in may

Goals

To develop an effective beach clean up and informational program that will help keep our beaches clean and inform people of the endangerment of sea turtles and how to protect them.To persuade Delray beach community to support and promote our new organization. To Recruit 25 to 50 volunteers to participate in promoting the organization by the beginning of 2016To have at least 100 volunteers join in the beach clean up by summer 2016

Plans for executionStart a facebook page to protect our sea turtles and keep our beaches clean.Reach out to current friends on facebook to join in and share with others. Get 20 t-shirts printed with save our sea turtles & beaches.Buy the trash bags and gloves in bulk from costco.Reach out to local businesses for donations and advertising in their establishments.
