This BCA CSR Beach Clean-Up is organized in supportof the “Keep Singapore Clean Movement” initiativeled by the Public Hygiene Council.

The Keep Singapore Clean Movement is a nationalrallying call for Singapore to move from being a“cleaned city to a truly clean city”. The movementaims to encourage everyone to show considerationfor the next user by keeping public spaces clean, learnthe importance of keeping Singapore clean throughlitter picking and advocate for a clean Singapore.

“The Beach Cleanup CSR activity was an engaging way ofmaking us more aware of the impact of the trash that we failto dispose of properly. At the same time, it made me realisehow much plastics and styrofoam we actually use – can youimagine that the bags of rubbish and recyclables that wecollected were only a fraction of the total thrash we createeach and every day as a nation? There is just so much morewe can do, for the environment that we have so painstakinglybuilt and sculpted. Together, we can make a difference!”
