The “Associação Brasileira de Ensaios Não Destrutivos e Ins-peção – ABENDI” (Brazilian Association of Non-Destructive Tests and Inspection) is a non-profit, private law, technical-scientific entity, headquartered in São Paulo, established in March 1979, aimed towards spreading NDT and Inspection te-chniques, through actions focused on technology refinement and, as consequence, on the people and companies involved with this subject.

The Association, by means of its articulation work among industries, teaching, research and professional institutions, contributes in a significant fashion for domestic exports of products and services.

Its actions have a direct impact on worker’s safety and health and on environmental preservation.Through its actions oriented towards technology develop-ment and management, attained the following recognition, licensing, accreditation and qualification:

• Recognized by the Science and Technology Ministry (Minis-tério da Ciência e Tecnologia – MCT) as Sector’s Technologic Entity (ETS, in Portuguese) for technologic management in NDT area.

• Licensed by the Associação de Normas Técnicas – ABNT (Brazilian Association of Technical Standards) as the Sector Normalization Organism (ONS-58) for NDT standards dra-wing-up.

• Accredited by Inmetro’s Accreditation General Coordination for People’s Certification under the number 002.

• Recognized by the Personnel NDT Qualification and Certi-fication National System (SNQC/END) by the European Fe-deration for NDT – EFNDT, based on the Mutual Recognition Agreement – MRA, instrument that ensures that Abendi’s certification system is conducted in compliance with the mi-nimum precepts set forth by that Federation. MRA Signatory countries recognize such minimum requirements.

• Qualified as a Civil Society Organization of Public Interest (OSCIP) by the Ministry of Justice.

A member of the NDT International Committee – ICNDT and the NDT Panamerican Committee – PAN NDT.
