Brewster CAIRS is a division of the Brewster Recreation Department that is dedicated to giving children with varying abilities the opportunity to ac-cess recreation activities regardless of skill level. Our staff works closely with the class instructors to develop and adapt activities to meet the social and physical needs of all children involved.

If we do not get volunteers to coach these programs, the number of par-ticipants accepted could be seriously effected. RULES & PROCEDURES

HOW TO REGISTER FOR PROGRAMS: Registrations forms available at http://www.town.brewster.ma.us/content/category/4/22/38/ or at the Recreation Office. MAIL completed registration form and payment to Brewster Recreation Depart-ment, 2298 Main Street, Brewster MA 02631. DROP OFF your completed registration form and pay-ment to our Drop-Box, located on the outside of our office at the front of The Eddy Elementary School.

All programs dates, times, and rates listed in this booklet are subject to change from time to time. Wait-ing lists are maintained for many programs. Please sign up early, as space for programs may be limited. All programs are on a “first come-first served” basis. Registration may be limited due to space limita-tions or staff to participant ratio.

NON-RESIDENTS: Non-residents are welcome to the programs we offer. The additional cost is $10 per person/per pro-gram.

FILLED CLASSES: You are urged to register as soon as possible. Classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. We do not “hold” spots. If your class is filled, you will be placed on a waiting list. We try to offer additional classes whenever possible.

HOURS OF OPERATION & DEPARTMENT LOCATION: Recreation Office: Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:00pm Recreation Location: The Eddy School, 2298 Main Street, Brewster MA 02631

PAYMENT: Checks payable to “Town of Brewster” or cash payment.

RETURNED CHECKS: There will be a $25 additional fee for checks returned by the bank.

PRO-RATING: We cannot pro-rate program fees because of absence, late sign-up or other circumstances.

REFUNDS: A full refund will be given for any program that is cancelled. You may withdraw without penalty for a program up to 7 business days prior to the start date, after that time no refunds will be issued unless your spot can be promptly filled by someone on the waitlist and no cost is incurred because of your withdrawal. Refunds can take up to 4-weeks to process. In extraordinary circumstances, requests for refund after the start of a class will be considered by the Recreation Director and must be made in writ-ing. There are NO refunds due to weather.

CANCELLATIONS: We reserve the right to cancel classes due to low enrollment or other causes beyond our control.

CONFIRMATION: You are officially enrolled and your name is placed upon the class roster as soon as we receive your registration form and payment. Unless you hear from us, you are in the program. No confirmation letters will be sent home. We will contact you if the program is full or cancelled.

MAKE-UP CLASSES: All attempts will be made to reschedule classes that have been cancelled due to inclement weather or instructor absence. We are not responsible for making up classes that are missed due to the partici-pant’s inability to attend.

DISCIPLINE PROBLEMS: If a participant becomes a problem, he/she will be expelled from the program without refund of the program fee.

FINANCIAL AID: Please contact the Recreation Director for scholarship opportunities.

LOWER CAPE RECREATIONAL SOCCER LEAGUE

Grades: 3 - 6 Home Games & Practices @ Freemans Way Fields

Cost: $30 The Lower Cape Recreational Soccer League is an organized travel soccer league for boys & girls in grades 3-6. The league is made up of teams from Harwich, Chatham, Brewster, Or-leans, Eastham, Wellfleet, Truro & Province-town. Every effort is made to create evenly balanced teams throughout the league. Teams play a 6 to 8 game schedule, however competi-tiveness is kept to a minimum while fundamen-tals, skill development, teamwork, and sports-manship is emphasized. All teams will practice one night a week and will have one game a week.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE FOR LOWER CAPE SOCCER IS FRIDAY, SEPT. 10 ($5 Late Registration Fee)

3rd & 4th Grade Division: Games are played on Saturday mornings @ 10:00AM.

YOGA FLOW - Vinyasa Flow Yoga Tuesdays, September 23—November 16 Eddy School Gym 5:30PM-6:30PM Adults 16+ Cost: $80 Instructor: Karen Corcorcan This is an 8 week vinyasa flow yoga class, moving seamlessly from one posture to another, that allows you to quickly build strength, flexibility and improve balance and coordination. Using the tools of yogi: breath, poses, eye focus, intention, body locks, visualization & relaxation, your experience gives you a felt sense of body-mind-spirit connection. Instructor Karen Corcoran, M.A., IKYTA is a mental health counselor and yoga teacher.

Andrew Dill, BBoy Mercury, is back from his visit this summer to Playground to offer a full program packed with energy! Stand up paddle boarding is quickly becoming one of the hottest water sports for its relaxing nature and low impact core and balance workout! Give this growing sport a try—beginners welcome! BREWSTER BAYSIDE SKIPPERS—**COMPETITION** The Brewster Bayside Skippers Competition Team is a group of skip-pers that choose to focus on regional and national competition in several jump rope organizations. Since the team’s beginning in 1997, its members have consistently placed in the top 10 at USA Jump Rope, AAU Junior Olympics, American Double Dutch League and International Rope Skipping Federation competitions. This group of typically 4th-12th graders has been coached by John Hammond for the past 4 years. The team’s mission is to provide an athletic atmosphere that fosters confidence, discipline, responsibility, teamwork and leadership for its members. Fundraising for the team’s expenses is carried out by the Brewster Bayside Skippers Parent Support Group.
