The Valiant Knights brought home honor and different recognitions in
the recently concluded second installment of the SGEN Cup held at Southville
International School and Colleges (SISC), February 24.
It can be remembered that the Knights were triumphant in the first part

Game. In its second installment, the
Valiant Knights made sure that the fire
which they ignited during the first part of
the SGEN Cup will continue to burn.
The SGEN Cup started with an
opening ceremony facilitated by SISC.
Then, it was followed by the coaches’
meeting to ensure that the rules of the
games are disseminated to everyone.
After the meeting, the first game began. The volleyball team of SSIS was recognized as the champion after it
defeated the volleyball team of SSIS Malarayat in the championship game.
The Valiant Knights won in both two sets of the game finishing champion with
the score 2-0, in favor of SSIS Batangas.
Moreover, the football team of SSIS finished First Runner Up in the Girls
Football game. The team overpowered the South Mansfield College (SMC)
team and played against the SISC in the Championship game. The Lady
Valiant Knights showed tenacity and grit in playing, however, the Monarchs
dominated the game and they snatched the Championship title. The
Volleyball players are being mentored by the SSIS Volleyball coach, Coach
Romeo “Meo” Talain. In addition to
those recognitions,
the SSIS Volleyball
team finished
Second Runner Up in
the Girls Volleyball
Game.

Sir AC Calado facilitates the ribbon cutting of the new LED TV given by the ECED and GS Student Councils.
FOR GIVING IS LOVING
The ECED and Grade School Student Councils surely have passion and heart for service. For the second time around, both councils of the present Academic Year give back to the school to express love and care to the Valiant Knights.
Just recently, the ECED and the Grade School Student Councils donated 2 computer units each in the school’s library. Those computers will be of great help to those students who are taking SRC quizzes.
Nonetheless, the generous hearts of the officers didn’t stop giving. Last Monday, the ECED and GS Student Council officers, moderators, and parents turned over an LED TV to the school principal, Sir AC Calado. Sir AC and the officers facilitated the ribbon cutting which signifies the joyous acceptance of the school of the said donation. The LED TV will be placed on the wall of the school’s lobby. It will be used to flash important announcements and activities.
These legacy projects wouldn’t materialize without the unending support of the students and parents alike to the projects of the Councils.
The ECED and GS Student Councils would like to extend their grattitude to everyone!

An international school is a school that promotes international

accreditations.
Accreditation boosts the profile of an institution and confirms that it
meets high standards of education, welfare, and good practice. Subjecting
to an international accreditation, like that of the WASC, will reassure students,
parents, and other stakeholders that the institution is a good choice, and that
it will provide them with professional teaching, valuable qualifications, and a
positive learning experience.
Stonyhurst Southville has been subjecting itself to different
accreditations for the past years. Since the school ensures that it maintains
quality education and service, it has been reaccredited by WASC six years
ago and by ISO three years ago. At present, the school is on the process of
reaccreditation by WASC which signifies the school’s desire to continuously
improve and meet the international standards.
